Hi guy's, has anyone ever bought coins through Amazon? I was wondering because I just ordered $15 worth of assorted rolls. I thought, as a spare of the moment thing, to maybe try to Cherry Pick these rolls.I figure, what the heck, why not give it a try? Anybody else ever try this and does anyone know who distributes the coins? Thanks guy's in Advance. :)

The invoice should have the info of the seller unless it’s being sold by Amazon itself.

Oh, thanks. The moment before you posted, I did check myself. It's someone from Florida. Thanks again. ;) According to Amazon, it has several good reviews. We shall see, right?

I thought, I'll give it a shot for a couple of reasons. 1. I have Amazon Prime. No tax or shipping. Along with free next -day delivery. 2.I figured it'll give me something to do for the Holiday. and 3. It's better than spending the money on food or something else. I'll let you know how I did. :)

Amazon is excellent for Numismatic books. I know of many excellent coin sellers elsewhere, far more good dealers than I have funds for. Don't need new sources for that.

Only thing I ever saw on Amazon was a 16D Mercury dime priced about a thousand more than elsewhere listed by the same dealer. Yes it was certified so I could trace that was the same coin.

Amazon doesn't take any crap from their sellers. If there were a problem, they shut them down quickly. Amazon's "take" is much higher than eBay's which is why you don't see many coins on Amazon. With a 20+% vig, it's prohibitive for coins which have such low margins.

Used to be an Amazon seller for men's suits. And here are few of the disadvantages I can think of.

Buyer who claims " item not received" from a package without a signature confirmation will automatically wins the A-Z.

Seller can't block the buyers. A con artist can repeatedly buying from you while returning a brick back with the claim of "item not as described."

You may win the A-Z claim battle but you will always loose the war from customer's negative feedback.

Well, you have some spunk to post the followup. Funny.

Anyone who needs instructions on how to use coin rolls should not be allowed outside unsupervised.

This one has 4 star rating.. 16 reviews. Not an overall bad price... but most likely searched just like every other lot in existence.

Was it Lee Hewitt (Numismatic Scrapbook) who said "There is no Santa Claus in Numismatics"?

    Still true today.

That is a ridiculous price for wheat cents. Granted, shipping isn't cheap, but that's not your problem. No coin star is going to charge you more than $2 or $2.50 per roll.

    Thanks for the follow-up @joeykoins.

Since it’s “Prime” I think return shipping is free and it’s generally automated.

Click to return, printout return label, mail back, and wait for refund. At least that was my experience from an item awhile back; and of all things it was an order of shipping labels.

If you live in a State that charges a sales tax on coins or bullion, Amazon most will tack on a sales tax.
