He obviously didn’t write this ad. I hope nothing’s wrong!

He was his typically jovial self at the Baltimore show.

And here I thought Wnuck was the witty one......

    The resemblance is uncanny

That is definitely a much cheaper alternative.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I never noticed that resemblance before!

I know you did, Jim. I just thought I'd emphasise your point. And I think you're right. Nobody knows. It's like the joke that always ends with...... "What, no soap?"

Or, maybe it's an "inner circle" thing. And we're just not meant to know. Maybe we wouldn't understand it if we did know. Who knows?.......It's kinda like asking why God invented the mosquito. I don't know. Does anybody know? If anyone does know they haven't told me. And even if they did tell me I might not understand it. But I do hope that John is o.k. I know that.

For those that don't know, CRO makes some of the best coin ads in the industry.

You can see their past ads here:

Oh. I think I get it now. But if John "obviously" didn't write the ad then the question becomes; Is the person who did write the ad o. k.? Did Dave write the ad? Is he o.k.? I hope he is. Nice guy. I bought an 1811 Capped Bust half from him. Years ago. Nice coin. Pleasant fellow.

OK I get it it's not suppose to be funny.

CRO is just John (and MaryAnn) and Dave is one his own at DaveWCoins.com.

John writes witty advertisements with one liners which are generally quite humorous. The ad in the OP is much more to the point. That I believe was the point of the OP. No “insider” thing.

He is not with sharing an Insalata Caprese.

Did Dave used to be part of CRO? His name is on a number of the ads above.

I bought some coins from Dave when he was working with Harry. They are both very so very, very knowledgeable. Easy to work with......And Dave is a naturally funny guy. He doesn't try to be. He just is. And he's HONEST. You can see it in his face.

Even genus needs a break every now and then.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
