Should I send in for examination?

Is this error Penny something I should have analyzed?

It depends on how rich you are? I cannot think of any way this could be caused at the Mint. If the unusual part of the coin is INTO the surface it is damage. It looks raised. You can put some acetone on it to see if it dissolves.

It will probably turn out to be damaged but if you can afford it, send it in anyway so you can rest your mind.

    Just a damaged cent.

If I found that cent in the register till, I would make every effort to send it to the bank with the nightly deposit.
