I appreciate it as an original coin and like it more than a freshly dipped, white example, but toning that dark, thick, and mottled is not my cup of tea.
It has been my experience that coins with toning like this have built in grade limitations. I don't see a single flaw on the coin; I think it would grade higher without that toning, which I find unattractive.
I used to refer to the many MS 65 Barber Halves I saw with this kind of toning as coins with "toilet bowl toning."
"Vou invadir o Nordeste, "Seu cabra da peste, "Sou Mangueira......."
I like it, assuming I am correct in thinking it probably looks a lot nicer in hand than the pics show. Sometimes a coin like this is best enjoyed in person, and even then a nice loupe and good lighting help as well.

Too grungy for my tastes.
Not a fan.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
It's NT for sure and a nice date.
But that mottled neutral color tone is not a plus for eye appeal.

Ahh the ole "russet rainbow". Not for me.
I don't really like it either.
Too much for me.

Not terrible, but not great either.
I’m guessing @ricko won’t like it.

I like the coin.... great detail....not so much the tarnish though... Cheers, RickO
I don't like the toning. Too much and too neutral. Not enough color.
It also may be hiding a lot.
The strike is good but 1934-S coins are usually well struck up, anyhow.

I would like it if it was cheap enough.
Our host gave it a 65 & the seller has it for sale on eBay for $2190.00.
I like it. Call me the odd ball. But certainly not at that price...
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
Looks like Ms. Liberty is walking through a smoldering fire.
Would look better "Sight Unseen" as I believe the photos aren't helping this one at all.
For me, not so much.

Unattractive toning. Negative eye-appeal.
Not a fan of the mottled toning. I wonder what a quick dip in EZest would do but then you never know what's underneath.
I love pretty toned coins — I dislike this coin.

I find the toning to be neutral.
MS64 details with a pcgs net of MS62 due to subdued surfaces.
The obverse looks like it took a direct hit while in the center of a spittoon.
Toning doesn’t really work for me.

I dislike so much, I don't want to look at it ever again, imho
Look up "CRUSTY" in the encyclopedia, and this would be the picture. Original, but not attractive.
I appreciate the originality, but probably wouldn't be a buyer.

I like it; it has an autumn leaves thing going on.
It would not be in my collection.
Count me in the category of original but not that appealing. Though perhaps in hand there is much better luster than appears in the photos.
Natural unattractive toning. A big pass for me.
Not a fan.
