    Damaged, not an error coin.

A 1929 Buffalo nickel is a common date and yours is not only worn from years of circulation but damaged as well, which significantly reduces its value. I would guess that if you went into a coin shop, you could buy a coin like this for 25-50 cents. Cool old coin, but not worth very much

I really need to get some better glasses!!

Someone filed, sanded, cleaned and polished that poor ol’ buff.

    Everything one should NOT do.

    Damaged.

The value on that damaged Buff? Better examples are out there and I would not pay any premium. Probably wouldn’t take it if it was free. :/

@Eddie048....Welcome aboard....I agree with the above assessments. No value beyond five cents. Cheers, RickO

I couldn’t see it going more than 25¢ on a good day. 10¢ on a average day.

Since there is little monetary value, perhaps the best value can be achieved by giving it to someone who hasn't seen one and thinks that it really fascinating.

Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

Then they’ll come here asking if it’s an error and what’s the value.

    :D:)
