Do you have $9.7 million laying around?

Morgans .... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
What series would wake you up ?

Hansen will buy it, right ? He could find that in his couch cushions
Hate to admit, but those things could revise my Morgan attitude.

A finest known set of Susan B. Anthony dollars, of course!
Too bad he didn’t buy the Vermuele 1893-S when it was available
If I did, I would certainly buy something else and it might not even be coins.
Intact set. 14 year assemblage. Wow.

I did a "date only" set. A wondrous thing.

Couldn't find a taker.
Sold it for $1200
"Chump change"!!!!
hahhaa!
Very impressive!
I like , Morgan’s, it’s just I wouldn’t spend large money on them. I don’t have that kinda money anyways so it doesn’t matter😉
9.7 million dollars??? I'll check the console of my Yugo.
This is an opportunity for Coronet to build an even finer all-time finest set.
For billionaire that I’d chump change.
Do you have $9.7 million laying around?
It depends. Do they accept Zimbabwe dollars, and if so do they give change?
My Adolph A. Weinman signature

If I had 9.7M to spend on coins it sure wouldn't be spent on Morgans.
Certainly some awesome coins.....but I do not have that much in my sock drawer....
Cheers, RickO
“Do you have $9.7 million laying around?“
Yes, but I forgot where I left it.
Agree, obscure dime varities are much more interesting.
Interesting....I wonder if it’s negotiable.

its toned so it was not acceptable
I do not have millions LYING around, and if I did, not a dollar would be spent on Morgan dollars! 🙃
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
Nothing more boring than an all white Morgan collection
Before or after the dip or am I thinking of a different coin?
Edited: Oops! I am thinking of the Norweb coin.
That’s the Norweb coin. The Vermeule coin is 1000% original with blazing luster under variegated toning
I love our coins. That said, I'm not a fan of Morgan Dollars. The reverse eagle is hideous, the obverse so-so. I would have expected much, much better from Mr. Barber. So, to answer the question, that'd be a big no.
I gotta' say, what kind of a moron would put a PQ sticker on an 1892-CC PCGS/CAC MS-67+ slab? If you're playing in that end of the swimming pool that sort of a sticker should be a bad joke...
U.S. Type Set
Wasn't the Saint Gaudens Set to be sold intact, also through Stuppler, a while back for a lot of money? I do not think it sold intact, but not sure.

I don’t love Morgan’s, but all the same I can appreciate a top set like this. To be in the top 10 in a popular series it’s tough. To be number one in maybe the most popular series takes more than just a big checkbook. Congrats to the old owner and the new owner.
I have to agree with 291.
Morgans are totally boring.
Anything copper, or maybe some nice Nickel series, or maybe anything except Morgans?
Morgans are way over rated IMHO.
I had to sigh back in to give a "like" to Ebeneezer and Catbert.
Forgot to mention DIMEMAN.
No.
Never saw so many naysayers for Morgan’s??
I give away money. I collect money.

I suspect the Morgan collectors are the silent majority.

I would have guessed more than $9.7 million for the finest known set of arguably the most popular US coin series.

If I did I can assure you I'd quickly become the owner of a VERY impressive hoard of Beautiful Nickles. 🤑
I might need to find some really expensive secure Storage first but what the hey.
Yeah I don't really know offhand what 194,000,000 Nickels would weigh or what volume they would require . That weight of Nickels might put my current Storage unit on the 1st Floor from the 3rd Floor.
BUMMER. 😥😣🤔
42/97 are CAC
45/97 are PQ stickered
22/97 are both
I don't collect Morgans just because I think they are beautiful. I collect them because I remember the thrill I had when my sister gave me one as a child. It got me hooked
Just got an email from a Nigerian prince. He has $10M waiting for me to send my bank account #’s. I’ll have a little change left over.

I wonder how many bitcoin millionaires collect physical coins? Could be interesting if some where interested.
Maybe if all CAC...
If I had any interest in Morgans and that much money lying around, I would still object to paying $ 870,000 state sales tax.

Let me check my couch cushions. No, seriously. If a Gates , Buffet , Zuc or well known individual made the deal would be great promotion for our "Hobby of Kings"

The interesting thing is that most of their public “hobbies” are about giving back, such as through foundations and donating to hospitals and organizations. If they did buy coins, I’m guessing it may be done privately.
Yes, Nickels and Dimes I need and a 1796 & 1804 Quarter and a 1796 Half and a bunch of other type coins. I just don't care that much for Morgans. I would get a high grade "ScarFace" for my Variety Type Set.
Yes, let's all ignore the nattering nabobs of negativity.

If you could afford the set, you could easily afford to establish a residence in a no-sales-tax state.

My first serious collector coin was a Morgan. It was an 1882 CC in a GSA holder. At first; I didn't like the robust woman with the wide cheeks on the obverse.
Now, I've grown to love them. I'm doing a one-per-date set. I like them toned and white.
They're a big, beautiful piece of history and silver.
