    Perhaps the price may not be that extraordinary considering that a single 1794 Dollar sold for $10M.

    That's called tax evasion and I don't look good in stripes.

    You can only have one principle residence or domicile, and that is the state that issues you a drivers license, where you receive mail, vote, etc. This becomes important when your estate files its tax returns after your death.

    So renting a PO box or apartment in Delaware to receive a large purchase like this and avoid paying your home state's taxes is playing with fire in my opinion. Since the government loves to make an example of miscreants to scare the rest of us into paying our taxes, it will be interesting to see whether anyone eventually goes to prison for pursuing this tax evasion strategy.
