The Red Book Challenge

Is anyone here trying to collect everything listed in the Red Book? Is there a Registry Set for that?

Many of the coins in the Red Book are truly unique. Probably an impossible task.

That would be an interesting registry set. I like that idea.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Of course, but not a problem.

Disagree. I would be very incomplete; however, we could ask Mr. Hansen to add Colonials to his set.

If this ever caught on, imagine the excitement every year anticipating new additions to the RB.

What a monumental task.... Something for a young collector to undertake.... not enough years left for we old timers. Cheers, RickO

Eliasberg had colonials, along with confederates, territorials, and medals. So it's more of a question of how much like Eliasberg Hansen wants to be.

I have collected a lot of the types in the Red Book, but not all of them. For example Bermuda, the Philippines and territorial gold are out.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I also like the idea because it lets a collector play the registry game without forcing them to specialize all that much.
