whats the deal with all these new posters wanting to buy all of a sudden?

Again, new posters wanting to buy all coins, gold silver, etc, yet several people on the forum actually have good buys based on current pricing?

Be careful with any new forum members offering to buy rare coins, gold, silver, etc. Be sure to get payment before you ship them anything. Unfortunately this place attracts more than its fair share of scammers.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Best case scenario: Newbies wanting to play dealer. My guess none could afford a substantial deal. How many do you think also run buy ads on pay venues ? Worst case : crooks looking for ducks. Danger Will Robinson Danger
+1
And only accept PayPal. Scammer pays by check, check is “cleared “, check turns out to be counterfeit, and you’re screwed.
Probably the bull market in metals is attracting some new people, but as others have said you have to have an ironclad method of payment.
Yep... Stick with Paypal.... the old days of trust are gone...unless dealing with an acquaintance or long time buyer/seller.... Cheers, RickO
I buy everything and sell (a few) via Pay Pal. Only had a few bad issues but once the money is transferred to my account I then move the monies into my personal local credit union. Then I do the transaction shipping when I sell ( only a few times ). Much more buying than selling. Only to America too, rarely do I send overseas.
I actually has a small package lost overseas and made the refund. I managed to sell to a honest seller because after 6 to 7 weeks his packaged did arrived and he paid me back. That was nice.
Right now I actually have one package lost coming to me. I was refunded and should it arrives I will repay it. On the lookout for it . Hope it arrives some really cool Tokens.
Good luck I always give my trust at first but very cautious.
I noticed one thread on the BS&T forum where two new guys are talking to one another about what ever garbage they were dealing in, it just appeared to me to be the same person holding down both sides of the conversation.
Maybe I'm wrong, but all the new accounts have me curious too.
I only deal with those forum members who are part of The Circle of Trust.

We need something more trustworthy that the circle of trust, maybe the dodecahedron of trust.
I'd be wary of brand new members, we've had scammers on here before scam myself and some other members!
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
Mkman mind if I ask how they did their scam? Being a victim your lessons learned would be of importance to someone like me who has not been scammed before. Was your experience through a Pay Pal transaction? If you do not want to share I would totally understand.
This thread: why are so many new people wanting to buy?
A hundred other threads: why are there no new collectors coming into coins?
This thread: the newbies are scammers.
Question answered as to why there aren’t a ton of new people knocking on the door.
Caution to the wind !!!
Beats new people (posters) wanting to steal.

And it’s a super secret circle
Makes me think of the Old Medicine Shows . Traveling Medicine Show blasts into Town offering all sorts of miracle stuff in bottles. Shills working the crowd are all too eager to buy. Soon everyone gets into the Spirt of buying and the Show sells everything they brought.
Pack it up and move on to the next Crowd.
Circle of Trust
brings me back to the good old days of BONGO BONGO and Mad Marty's rubber chicken life was simpler then
Maybe our host should look into providing a payment system. A new revenue stream for them safe passage for us.
I'm buying...You can all trust me
That is exactly right. Just because a check has cleared and the money is released to your bank account, doesn't necessarily mean the check is good.
...yeah, why should PayPal get all the fun
