Iran 1902 gem crown.

Hi guys and I hope that you’re enjoying a great summer.

I don’t hang around here so much, but I still collect. I’ve recently picked up a raw crown from the Kingdom of Iran (1902) with their characteristic lion on the obverse. I immediately saw that it was a gem with a slight shot at 66 and it seems that I was right.

(Cathy, I hope you still have that gold half (?) pahlevi that I had sold you in a different life. :) They have appreciated in value in near gem and gem grades and I still find them so cool!)

“Namaste”.

Best regards from a very sunny and very hot Athenian morning.

That's easily the best example I've seen. Hope all is well, Dimitri!

Hi Dimitri, nice to hear from you, and that's a beautiful coin.

Mind if I share one of mine, quite a bit smaller and a year earlier ...

Add me to the list as it is the best I have seen too... Sort of wondering why it fell short of 66. The image captures an amazing coin.

Yes, that’s the job PCGS Europe does instead of Trueview, you’ll have the chance to find out too Zohar, if you submit anything from Tel Aviv via a dealer and not via your US CU subscription. Very low standards ,and much worse in the closeups. But the turnaround is usually super quick , 4 weeks.

PS: Paul, if this is in your collection, where the minimum grade in 20th century is ultra Uber gem, I dread to look it up! 🥴
