Looking at the prices in 60 year old coin guides is eye opening.

I had a TG&Y in my town growing up. Those old price tags bring back memories.

That U.S. commemorative coin book is one of my favorites. It gives the history of each coin (gross and net montages, issue prices, design descriptions) and a brief history of the place or event the coin commemorated. I think that it is an underrated book.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. Wow, brings back memories, not the books but the price stickers. I remember TG&Y but can't remember what the initials stood for?

Old coin books (I have a few as well) can have some real nuggets of information.... I pick up one now and then either at the used book shop or ebay. Cheers, RickO

I love books. Aside from a complete first edition, first print of Tom Clancy novels, coin books are my favorite subject. I have many, the most recent being U.S. Proofs and Patterns by Judd-Kosoff, a second edition though.
