    I don't know that I believe that.

Not saying it’s true or false but I don’t believe a thing this scumbag says

@perkdog @thisistheshow Yeah I agree,i read that on my phone before posting and missed the part about him possibly changing his story up. We'll have to wait and see if the truth actually ever comes out.

Perkdog having served a career in law enforcement can chime in on this if he wishes...

    My two cents...

Violent criminals, even though they are what they are, most of them still have a code of conduct. You can rob a bank and get a sentence of twenty years in prison, and your fellow inmates will likely shake your hand for the effort. But if you rape an underage girl or boy, and get the same twenty year prison sentence, most every fellow inmate will want to hurt you real bad for doing that.

This guy is likely now coming to the stark realization that he is going to serve a very long prison sentence. There are going to be a lot of his fellow inmates who are going to be very hissed off that he tried to murder a beloved man such as David Ortiz. These inmates are going to want to hurt this guy real bad for doing that, and i believe this attempted killer is lying for damage control so to speak.

But of course it's not going to work...he's not fooling anybody. If he survives a year in prison I'll be surprised.

Depends greatly on who ordered it. If Ortiz was the target, this guy is getting handshakes. And protection. Jails ain’t full of baseball fans they’re fullnorlf gangsters and criminals. If Ortiz was the target, this guy gets the cozy cell and will be protected on high...

@Stevek, lots of variables come into play with this, if it was a gang hit then he will be fine with his gang if he was doing it for them, if it was just money or drug business or just disrespectf then he will be fine too, inmates don’t care about guy on guy crime or in most cases guy on wife, girlfriend crime either unless it’s a rival gang Ofcourse then you best get protection from your crew. . He is beloved but again business is business. Inmates have ZERO tolerance for Rats, Cell thief’s, Rapists and child molestors and former LE. They don’t care about good citizens or “Beloved countrymen”

I would add shooting someone in the back to that as well

That's interesting. I would have thought that trying to murder a beloved countryman such as Ortiz would have been upsetting even to jailbirds. Especially in a small county such as the Dominican Republic where baseball is very popular. Players from the Dominican Republic are the second most in MLB, second only to American players.

Well then he's lying for some reason. Perhaps we'll eventually find out what this is all about?

Tough to tell, if there is a deal made and it includes witness protection ect.. you might find out the “Partial real story” if the guy just flat out says it was a mistake and no other details given and the guy does his jail time then you probably won’t find out the real deal. But there are always “Snitches” or someone looking to make a deal and will give the details to the police ect..but even then the police might spin it differently to fit their agenda as well. Bottom line it’s s dirty business and you can’t trust the scumbags or the LE agency, forget DR police they might be worse than the Mexican Police as far as corruption goes lol

Certain things are not respected amongst most all types of men
I was serious about the shooting in back thing. Add to that list messing with their woman ( even if it's their mistress), betrayal, and disrespect.

I'm not saying any.of that was involved, I'm just saying........

Respected by normal men, we are not talking about normal men though thugs are thugs and have no problems shooting someone in the back, sucker punching them or 3 on 1 beatings. Rarely were fights in my jail straight up 1 on 1’s, when they want the job done they send 2 to 10 guys, seriously.

    Good points.

As an aside, from 99-06 I lived in NYC. Worked with a lot of and befriended a few Dominicans. They loved to go back home, but admitted it could be really crazy.

My wife is from Brazil- another country with a lot of street violence and dirty cops. She is the one who brought up to me the coward aspect of attacking someone from the back.

Anyway, great but sad thread. Like I said, as a family man I think a man should be at home with his wife and kids. But only God can judge. And many a great man has redeemed himself- particularly after facing death and living to tell about it.

Ortiz was in DR with his son for some baseball camp if I remember right.

I am not judging him. I am putting an observation based on what he was doing combined with what I know of his marital history. I know successful men travel more than me. I do not know if the story about two mistresses, not knowing of each other, fighting at the DR hospital is true.

I didn't mean for my words to be harsh.

I didn't hear about that. I just watched the video, this may sound crazy but one is supposedly some huge model down there and all this could have been over her.

edit: one video says it's his wife & mistress fighting, another says it's his sister & mistress fighting and a third says it's his two mistresses fighting.
