I love perusing the Coin Rarities Online site, even when pieces are on hold or sold. John has so many interesting things that it's always a treat.
Tonight this 1896 Marmaduke medal by Mayer & Wilhelm in Stuttgart, NGC MS63, stopped me in my tracks. Wonderful work.
It's already on hold.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Definitely.
John has the eye for uber pq examples and works hard to find them. Plus like Mark said, he is a great dude. Here are a few examples purchased from CRO.
I would really like to get one of those Marmaduke medals for my daughter... she has a Great Dane... and loves those dogs...Looked online for others... did not see any... Emailed CRO...no response yet. Cheers, RickO
Doggone good !
Never heard of a "doggen" club. "Hunden" of "hundsiche" makes more sense to me. Is there a German speaker who can explain?
That's a nice piece. I have bought several coins from CRO and been happy with each purchase. They are one of the very few dealers who have inventory I actually want to buy.
Really? Looks like a real dog to me
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
Woof !

He definitely has some beautiful, cool, interesting and unique items.
It's fun to peruse his offerings.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

There have been several coins I would like from him, but they always sell before I get the chance.
Exquisite detail.
When that happens, I use that as an indicator that I have good taste.

Love the road reports.
I’m always pleased to see when a coin I have purchased makes its way to the Archives

"1793" Washington & Independence Draped Bust - Silver - PCGS PR64+CAM pop 1/1
I'm a big fan of the Washington & Independence tokens so was pleased to run across this one in silver.
The PCGS pops show 37 silver with 33 proof-only and 4 DCAM. The DCAM specimens are: PF62 DCAM, PF64 DCAM, PF64+ DCAM and PF65 DCAM.
Just sold a coin of mine to CRO here at the ANA. Sad to see it go, but we both agreed on a very fair price.
Years ago I saw their site and bought a beautiful dollar. Since then, there have been at least a dozen coins that I would liked to have purchased - always on hold. I'm due for a little luck and a second purchase.
Will add that their shipping box was quite nice and is stout. Full of stacked 90%; weighs several pounds; box holds up well and is eminently stashable.
Their inventory is fascinating in several ways - gold CACs, rare holders, obscure early issues.
And on occasion all of the above in one coin

You know you're a coin addict when you block off your work calendar on select Tuesdays at Noon so you don't miss the CRO early bird email!
I seriously do this

Me too!!
I am right there with you.
Here's a Ferdinand & Isabella gold coin which looks quite beautiful. It has a "S" mintmark for the Seville Mint. It's cataloged as Fr-129.
You all can relax, today's isn't coming out until 12:30. So just chill....
Happy Holidays and New Year!
Here's the CRO holiday logo
The offerings are really beautiful. Peace Roy

Finally was able to get one recently. Great coin in hand as well.
I have bought a few Bust Half Dollars from CRO. They come up with some really pretty coins.
