Can I a bit more context on this? Also. What platform is that?
Thanx.
For you, Mike?
Of course!
That’s just how eBay looks when I am on the app, Mike.
The seller, fjcarrion, is one of several sellers on eBay who will pop up with new items semi regularly from Latin America, Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela. Several cards and my most recent common came from that eBay store and he’s listed and continues to list cards for auction and/or sale from those countries in addition to the more traditional American cards. I don’t know him, per se, but I’ve dealt with him enough to know he’s legit and his items ship when you pay.
Now, as for that price, given the condition, it is just incredible to me, Mike, especially for a raw copy of the card with a rather large hole in the top right quarter of it. These cards are very tough to find, for sure, but over the last six months I have now seen staggering prices on Babe Ruth, Martin Dihigo, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb and Stan Musial and not even for premium looking copies. Pretty remarkable to me considering this set typically flies under the radar.
Here’s some pricing data from PSA as it doesn’t often come up for sale, taken with a grain of salt:
I love the idea of a set so rare that you don't actually know how close you are to completion. Something is lost when, for example, Topps puts a code on a card so that you know that it's an "error".

It’s pretty wild, right?
All these years, I still have never seen an Oswald Bluege card. Some people say they have but when pressed for images things eventually get quiet. I have done a lot of research and therefore have my own theories, based on a lot of good information I’ve acquired around, about and on the set.
I think you've tapped into a really cool niche as a collector; the antithesis of the "COVID era" collectoroid/flipper/investor or whatever?
Some of the prices from the PSA auction site? Some just may be outliers from the "COVID" influenced period - you'll just have to wait and see what prices are like down the road. It appears to me that some/many of the "johnny come lately's" may be ditching their "accumulations" looking for greener pastures? I recommend POGs.

Mike,
I liked hunting for cards back in the day. A few bucks stuffed in my sock, a Huffy to take me places and several card shops in riding distance.
Those were the days…
It’s a funny thing about marching to the beat of your own drum, Mike - especially as we age. Every once in a while, in a case like with this set, you look prophetic and maybe even intelligent. The other ninety five percent of the time, you’re the guy dancing by himself, weirdly, at a Dead show.
And I’m cool with both.
“You tell me this town ain't got no heart (well, well, well, you can never tell)
The sunny side of the street is dark (well, well, well, you can never tell)
Maybe that's cause it's midnight, in the dark of the moon besides
Maybe the dark is from your eyes (maybe the dark is from your eyes)
Maybe the dark is from your eyes (maybe the dark is from your eyes)
Maybe the dark is from your eyes (maybe the dark is from your eyes)
You know you got such dark eyes!
Nothin' shakin' on shakedown street, used to be the heart of town
Don't tell me this town ain't got no heart, you just gotta poke around…”

1951 Wheaties!!...well done. "Once in a while, you get shone the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right"...
I now realize I never did this…
THIS BEAST OF A SET HAS BEEN SLAYED
There is no Oswald Bluege card, the Gabby Hartnett card replaced it and I am at 180 of 180 cards.
