That picture of smashed to smithereens slabs posted earlier makes me want to cry.

    The humanity... :'(

Dimeman, What Roosevelt would you be cracking in a VF20 slab? That’s a horrible grade!

It's DDO & DDR FS-101 not many around in any grade!

Does this mystery coin have a date/MM?

1946-P. 3 total in all grades for this variety. This will be the 4th.

Someone need a saw? I am part of a volunteer chain saw disaster relief team. 2 weeks: 2 tornados, Not good.

Anyway, I can open a slab if needed.

Vices work best. Leave most of the slab sticking out and then shoot it with a .38. I did it with this quarter and it came out of the slab no problem.

Have to agree with the vise and hammer. Would never attempt with a chop saw! :D

I’m sure no expert at cracking out coins. All I use is a damn hammer tapping the holder on edge. I’ve never had a problem unless it’s a Segs holder. I’m pretty sure those are the one I had to really whack it hard.
I’m happy your wife found it for you. My wife is also really good at finding things I can’t. We have a lot in common that way buddy😉

Well now Jon, a sad event that, thanks to your wife, turned out remarkably well.... My wife is good at finding things too... When I drop something she just tells me sit still, she will find it - and she does.... ;) Cheers, RickO
