if i were to start silver stacking as an investment for the next major silver rise would you recommend buying silver bars or silver coins such as the silver eagles

I always suggest Silver Eagles for new OR long time stackers.
Loves me some shiny!
My preference is silver eagle tubes, then 10 oz. RCM .9999 bars.
But, silver is silver.

I like bars within a dollar of spot. (name brand of course) or junk silver.
My YouTube Channel
90% silver dimes, quarters, or halfs.
I like Silver Eagles !!!
silver eagles
90% junk
ASE are solid and usually easily transferrable (sold).
Make a couple or more date sets to make it interesting.
I wouldn't do a date set since some years carry a higher premium. that premium may disappear in the future.
stick to common date silver eagles with as low of a markup as possible. $2.50 over spot is the absolute most you should pay.
At this spot, gov bars on a sale, any gov mint rounds on a sale for ozers. Anything 5+oz whatever deal is on for close to spot. Should be able to get something for cheap if you pay attention and don’t impulse shop.
ASEs are a safe bet.
MY GOLD TYPE SET https://pcgs.com/setregistry/type-sets/complete-type-sets/gold-type-set-12-piece-circulation-strikes-1839-1933/publishedset/321940
just get what ever you can get cheap, near, at or below spot
thank you all for the helpful info
I recommend ASE's for stacking... excellent liquidity...I do have some silver rounds, acquired because I liked the theme or design. Certainly collector bars offer premiums from other collectors...but if you are stacking with a view to the precious metals market, be careful of authenticity. Cheers, RickO
Silver Eagles or 90% silver US coinage.
I knew it would happen.
I do all the above... as close to spot as possible.
Let me count the ways.
Junk silver and ASE's.
