I think that it is a nice AU with a couple finger prints and some attractive toning. There is a rub on the high points which makes it an AU-55 or 58.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?6 -

Not common for that date to have decent color.

I would say it's worth some premium for the color, but not a huge premium because of the fingerprinting.

This is true.
I can't recall seeing a 1899 with outstanding color.
I'm not convinced that it has any "rub".
Pictures with higher resolution are needed.
It looks like it might grade as high as MS-63.

I would pass... Fingerprints on the obverse, focal area, just spoil a coin for me. Cheers, RickO
