If he takes my advice he'll be changing it to @JoeyKards soon.
He's turned his back on coins. He's all about cards now. Unlike coins, he can't cash in his rejects.
He always was into the gambling side of coins.
More like treasure hunting than gambling. He must have searched through an incredible number of rolls of coins. I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually comes back to coins.

Gambling. Literally. He played those YouTube sweepstakes constantly.
He's over on the sports memorabilia forum posting almost daily about opening another new box of baseball cards.
Oh no. That is an expensive hobby. I learned that the hard way.
I learned it is much less expensive to buy the cards you want then to spend the money on a gamble box. However, if you got the money to burn then gamble away! Much more fun and exciting when you win!
So Joey and I exchanged PM's and I am happy to report that he and his family are fine but he has entered a new chapter in his life and will no longer be posting in the US Coin forum.😪
Joey has decided to move away from coin collecting and towards the thrill of the hunt ripping trading card boxes.😎

Are we talking baseball cards? Cause my 14U baller went through a spell opening numerous $75 boxes. Then puberty hit and now he worries about his hair which is the opposite of a mullet. Now it’s all in the front and shaved in the back. I wonder if Joey is growing a mullet 😆
One church has an "All Soul Day" where they remember all those in the family who died. I think it is November the first. We remember all the posters (most I never knew) in this thread who no longer post here for whatever the reason. I'm going to try to remember to revive this discussion next year on that date (if I'm still above ground) and maybe it will become an annual thing on CU.

Gambling addictions can be evident in many different forms.
I believe Joey is dedicated to his family and faith much more than any form of "gambling". 😎
Be careful assuming he has an addiction problem.
I believe he just loves the thrill of the hunt and is 100% passionate about anything he pursues and he loves to share his experiences with other members with similar hobbies.🥳🥳🥳
Labeling him an addict is just wrong and unfair in my opinion and that's all I am going to say about that.🙄

I neither agree nor disagree. I don't know him that well. He definitely liked gambling. He definitely had a certain compulsion, but don't we all? He definitely has fun. What else matters?

I got it. "Didn't expect you to get it, though" suggests, however, that the joke was at my expense not joking with me. So, in fact, I got both the joke and the subtext. Is there a prize?

Not remotely possible. If I agree to being the contrarian, I'm not being contrary. If I disagree with being the contrarian, I'm being contrary. I will have to, again, neither agree nor disagree.
As to your thesis, have you ever looked to see how many times i hit the "agree" button? There is little point, other than padding your post count, to say "agree" in a comment. Hmmm...I may start. I'll be at 100k by Christmas.

What happened to roadrunner? IMO, he's a SUPERSTAR poster on seated coins. I often thought that a compilation of his posts here would become one of the most insightful and informative books on the history of the Liberty seated coins in the marketplace. He was a fantastically informative, "superb gem" poster here. I hope he returns.
On a serious note, I really miss roadrunner’s posts. I’d love to hear his commentary on the new market dynamics on us now concomitantly having both CAC stickers and CACG.
He was last here on Nov 20, 2023. He may not be with us anymore.
