1793 Chain on Ebay

https://ebay.com/itm/1793-Flowing-Hair-Large-Cent-Circulated-VF-Copper-Draped-Bust-REAL-NGC25c-PR69/292975274828?hash=item4436afeb4c:g:r5oAAOSwVblcb3-M://

I have to say it is decent effort. They even got the spacing between B and R and the weakness at the top of the E in CENT.

Modern or older fake?

What makes me say modern is the story. The old "found it in abandoned building" line and that about same time as this was posted somebody else posted a fake 1793 Chain on Craigslist with a similar story but not exact

If it was real why wouldn’t they of slabbed the vent instead of the quarter.

Really! When it's a $20-30,000 coin? Wouldn't it be just good business to get it certified?

Since Big Al says it’s real, that’s good enough for me!

I wonder it Big Al is related to Big Lou, the radio life insurance guy you call on the phone? Big Lou’s on meds too!

The thing looks like cross between the wide date on the S-1 and the “sort of tilted “R” on the S.-3. If you are on your meds like Big Lou, it might seem okay.

I watched some coins from this seller a couple of weeks ago and was shocked to see the amount of bids they got on them.
    Shocked.
Like way on up to retail.
But he read online not to clean the coins, and a collector says they’re all authentic so....

    Someone's yanking your chain.

No need for a slab since it's obviously real or not. :#

    Look at all the bids.....

Isn't this the same guy who's been selling fakes or doctored coins as problem-free for several months now? He just dropped the picture of the abandoned store he supposedly found all the coins in.

    Got Crust....y gold?

At best it's an electrotype counterfeit.
