I have a few coins that are of sufficient value to warrant such protection....Will think about it. Cheers, RickO
Ok nice photo, nice display!
Where do I get them

Another startup company could come out with a sticker for those cases.
PCGS with a CAC sticker in a protective slab case stickered by ..........."xxx"

They look kind of bulky. What are people doing with there slabs that they need this level of protection?
Anyone know who makes these and where available? Didn't someone make one out of plexiglass with screws like the old Capitol holders? Anyone remember?
Overkill for the OCD.
Good for someone who just owns 1 coin and has butter fingers.
Now the coin is the size of a cell phone.

How about this one. Padded with Velcro closure. Got this from Russ (RIP) before he switched to another style.

Thanks for that info!
Thank you for the links, @Knell. I checked them out and they are very interesting and they make a quality product. I see they are made in China and I was going to make a joke about this company possibly being the Chinese company that makes the counterfeit holders. Then I see they do sell holders that are nearly identical to an NGC holder.
Five dollars is expensive for a slab protector especially if you have a large collection.
It makes storage more difficult as well.
Thanks!...I'll try one (free shipping & only $5)

I ordered one just to see how it works for my slabs.
We have come a long way since staples and a 2X2 were the norm
I personally like the plastic sleeves
thanks for the ebay links Knell!
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
I really don’t see why one needs a slab for a slab but to each his own
ALERT!!!!....................INSIDER2 THREAD BUMP WARNING
Received my slab protector today, finally!
As someone who is really particular about the condition of my plastic, I like it.
Very good quality and the white, inside silicon part smells like coconut (not kidding)
Think I'll order a couple more.

Now come up with a box of twenty concept.
Throw in an alarm and/or GPSTracker and you might be onto something.
I am not joking.

@ WaterSport Security tamper proof sticker so that you can be sure the CAC sticker is genuine....
And another sticker to assure the genuine article was placed in the case.

I wonder if that coconut smell will end up toning white coins over time...

Intercept had a nice slab storage system not as complex as that but it’s definitely safe to use

I got my two and they are nice. What we need is an album designed to hold these cases.
Anyone got any ideas?

So if I put my PCGS slab in one of those slab protector cases... then what do I put my slab protector cases in to keep those looking nice???

My question is how the plastic might affect the coin/slab inside of it.
Protector case for oversized slabs? Far right is standard size for comparison.
I, too got mine. Too large to be practical IMO, tho-takes up way too much space.
You will need a box for the box lol

Got mine too, won’t use it because of the smell of the insert. Really strong, even after it being open over a month.
Cool holder.

Wonder if CAC will remove this new slab to place sticker on old pcgs slab or if they will just sticker the new plastic. I hope it still goes on the original otherwise I will need a 2nd protector to protect the sticker on the slab protector of the original slab. Lulz

Interesting, but I don't need any !!!
I am partial to just using baseball card sleeves-'condoms' to protect the slabs from scratches as they still fit in plastic blue and green PCGS boxes. I probably will go for eight or ten of these for my very best pieces for displaying my best pieces when I hit the coin shows.
What type plastic do we think is the white insert that is offgassing that odor of coconut? Peace Roy

Nice but is something that bulky really practical?
You can use heavy plastic sleeves (aka baggies) that are 3 or 4 mil thick. Cheaper and easier to store.
If you can put a chip in my cat's ear...
If police can ping a cell phone from tower to tower...
If you can put a live remote camera on a frigging doorbell...
My advice is to think beyond the slab and think security applications. Microchips, GPS, etc
Think dealer and show security, transportation etc

I use and like Intercept Shield slab inserts but put the slab also in a sports card sleeve too as I once had the Intercept insert scratch a holdered coin during transport.
Never thought of ever smelling items I bought on the net/stores but I just checked the slab protector I bought back in January. Somehow the PCGS slab protector I have has that coconut oil smell but NO trace of smell in the NGC slab protector. I haven't seen any change in the quality of coins (IMO) since putting them in the slab protectors. I liked the protector for showing off the relatives. At one time, I showed a friend a high value coin in NGC and I didn't realized that she was trying to open the NGC slab (Obviously she can't with bare hands) until she asked me how to open it because she wanted to handle/hold the coin. Now I can show a coin to a relative/friend without them scratching the slab. Thanks.
I have 2 of the Intercept Box SL50 Side by Side. There are individual rubber separators. I then use the Individual Intercept Leuchtturm holder to protect the slab. Here are the pictures of the SL50 and the Individual Holder.
I don't really use these as they rest go in the NGC and PCGS regular holders.
I thought the slab was the protection......
You sort of have to read if from the beginning then you will understand.
