Sample slabs

Hello
Back after a very long time away, use to go by acan451. Just wondering if people are still collecting sample slabs.
I use too write a blog/articles on the subject and I am hoping some old friends will recognize my name and say hello.
All the best

Cool !!!
I remember you and even though sample slabs are not a part of my collection I enjoy seeing them as a lesson in history of the grading companies. I remember reading your blogs and posts too, welcome back!
I still like samples.
Will likely have a full case of them at Long Beach later this week, table 448!

Good to hear from you again Alan,
I still dabble in samples, but mostly trying to sell the ones I have accumulated.

While we're on the topic.....
Does ANYONE have interest in ICG and SEGS samples? I have a couple I wouldn't mind selling, but I haven't figured out the best way to move them. (GC doesn't officially carry those TPG's, and don't know if other venues would generate interest, or disgust).
And....to get back on topic......Welcome Back!
eBay is likely your best venue for those. Unless it’s a rarer example, those two TPG samples don’t tend to carry a large premium.
hey welcome back. its still good to see the sample slabs anytime
Hi Alan, good to see you posting. I’m still at it, upto 160 different “Cent” Samples to date.

Hi and thank you for the welcome.
Selling samples is not that hard ebay is a good venue, if you want send me a message and I will try to help you with some values. on ebay watch the prices for the samples you have give it a little time to get a value on them. That is if they happen to be on ebay. I have David Schwager's book on sample slabs it has ton's of info on samples with app values if I can help let me know
Thank you so much samples are fun

Wow I guess you do have a few lol
That is a great collection just amazing good luck at the show
Illini420, Are the 5 pennies by the RCMR Rare Coin Market Report are those considered sample slabs? Just wondering.
Maybe. More accurately I would call those promotional slabs. Then again, not sure there is a real difference. They were given out free at a show though, unlike some "samples."
