Does EIN actually verify the stories they run or will they publish anything if you pay them their fee?

Cheap promotion hype. Write a lot and say nothing.

If I were a salvor that truly believed $5 billion in gold lay aboard a wreck that I held claim to, I don't think that trying to renew my TV show would be priority number one.

Some day, after our lifetimes if these coins ever reach the market there will be so much that they'll never get a fair value.

If you do what you always did, you get what you always got.

Hmmm, if people thought that double eagle market was in a tailspin, another FORTY-FIVE TONS (!!) of said coins will not help a lot....LOL

They'll just end up in plastic garbage cans in the back of someones garage, like 'Comprenadas'?, the guy with the 4.8 billion wheat cents .

That's so close to where I live!!!! It's only about 60 miles from here. Hmmmm, so close yet so far away.

  • The real money is made in the reality show.

Successful BST deals with mustangt and jesbroken. Now EVERYTHING is for sale.

It's like the curse of oak island. They have been poking holes in the ground for 6 television seasons. They've found a few things with a metal detector. The real treasure is that they have been so good at telling the story that they've been able to keep an audience for this long. I can't imagine the ad revenue from all those episodes and re runs.
This guy probably has quite a bit already spent on exploration and court battles. The TV money just guarantees he's getting something back. I root for stories like this. Who doesn't love a treasure hunt? But in saying that, those are the reasons that these type of shows are successful.

Tom from our office made an appearance in one of the History Channel episodes regarding this wreck.

Is this the wreck where the 1861-O coins were recovered from years ago?

That would indeed be an incredible treasure if located and ultimately recovered.
