Captured in the wild!!! 1876-S DDO Trade Dollar

Ehhh. The drudgery of running the same Ebay searches multiple times a day, day after day, becomes monotonous. You see the same coins over and over in the results, many that have been there for years. But once in a blue moon, something pops up that is cool. Really cool. This was one of those times. I was lucky enough to spot it 20 minutes after it was listed (listed under “Bullion”, not “Trade Dollars”). Crappy pictures, but good enough to clearly see the doubling. Grade just posted: VF Details “Cleaning”. Although nowhere near as nice as the one Dan found last year, it is still a very rare coin and will replace the VF Details “Graffiti” example currently in my collection (which is now available if anyone is interested). Cheers!!!

Congrats!
Wow, great find! Your diligence has paid off!
Nice catch... could easily be overlooked... Cheers, RickO
Interesting. I can't see it from the photo's but I'll take PCGSs word for it. It sure doesn't look cleaned from the truviews. I assume there are some hairlines... Do you think someone darkened it after cleaning? I see plenty of dirt & grime.

Awesome! I’d resubmit that one a few times, any cleaning isn’t major.
Nice score.
Nice!

I do plan to resubmit it sometime in the future. In hand, I was sure it would straight grade. Very crusty and no noticeable signs of cleaning. Still, I am quite stoked about finding it. I just want to get it back and enjoy it for a spell. Should be here tomorrow...
