That card just went for 83k at SCP’s last auction.

Ill take it but only if the gloves come with!!
So $90,000 is both an overpay and a lowball.
I’m confused.

In the HOF RC community, auto grade is much less important than card grade.
Saying this is the single finest signed 52T Mantle is laughable.
I'm surprised he didn't list it for $10 million and tell people it's the same as one of the PSA 10s.

If I was selling a "6 figure" card, I would surely get a scanner and not rely on shadowy cell phone pictures.

I understand the autographed card rage. But 2 things strike me.
1. It isn’t his rookie ( just 1st Topps issue)
2. You can find a nice Mick autographed ball for what? Lee’s than $300? ( just guessing. I really don’t know the price range)
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
While the ask is crazy, he’s right in the sense that it is a rarity; at least on the PSA pop report:
I would guess that he’s playing up the quality of the signature since there are other cards of higher grade.
I imagine a price tag of 100k would at least draw some interested parties.

Autos are not my focus, thus I may be uninformed and in the minority, or maybe not, but I think auto grades are borderline laughable...at least when expecting a huge premium. I’ve seen beautiful sigs in Authentic holders on higher grade cards, and I’m not sure I’ve seen an auto grade less than 8. They may likely exist, but I don’t understand the auto grading scale to begin with. Especially during a time when all autos can be called into question.
The main thing with autographs is finding one that 'looks good', which anyone can do without having an assigned grade. The technical aspects of auto grading are things that basically no one cares about, except for folks who just want a 10 on the label however they can get it.
I don't know how to link it, but there is a guy on eBay currently trying to sell a 1948 Bowman Musial with a 10 auto. Bargain price $86000+. He even includes pictures of closed auctions if graded 10 cards over $100k to support this bargain. A search if the rest of his current auctions shows nothing but Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards.
My polite note to him remains unanswered.
After the signed T206 debacle, and the inference that signed 52 Topps may also be widely counterfeited, I'm leary about this signature. Especially with the number of other signed Mantles in his picture with seemingly identical sigs.
