A 1943s walking half dollar in the coin star a year ago.
A plain, worn 1881 Morgan that grades about F-VF. My first Morgan that was my grandfather's. 1881 was the year his mother was born. It could have been hers, but I do not know.
Don't collect VAMs anymore but I just can't bring myself to part with it.
My 1909D Indian $5 gold coin.... I have posted the pictures here many times... I have many gold coins - and silver, copper as well... But this one is my favorite. Cheers, RickO
My favorite coin that I "found" is a 1961 DDR proof half dollar (the Big DDR) the may warrant a Cameo designation.
I found it in an OGP proof set. Did not realize what the half dollar was until after I completed the purchase and drove home.
So way back when I was 13 in 1967 my friends and I were drawn in to a newly opened coin and antique shop in Arlington, Virginia. The proprietor got myself and several of my friends started with cent collecting and handed us all Whitman folders to begin our coin collecting journey. One day I pulled this 1924 D out of a roll and it was not only an amazement to me, but quickly created several very jealous coin collecting friends. When I showed it to the coin shop owner she too was impressed and even though it is well worn it still occupies its place in my Capitol Plastics Board which is AU - mint state. Sure, I could update it like all the other cents I first had - but this is truly the last one from my first collection and it reminds me every time I see it as when I started collecting and where cent collecting has taken me to today. So I would say its my favorite coin in my collections which I found.

Close call, but I would have to say that my 1872 BS 2 Cent Piece in a PCGS MS65 Brn holder with a CAC sticker leads the way.
I never thought that I would ever be able to acquire the coins that I now have in my collection.
I feel very fortunate to be able to post such a coin.
