Just wanted to let you know that this So Cal neighbor wishes you the best... My brother went to Chico State and I love the area, and am so saddened by your (and so many others) loss - but very grateful that you and your family were able to escape and all be together now. You have many supporters and are in lots of folks' minds and hearts... I've found these two things have helped me through adversity. I have repeated them often:

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference"
Our wishes and support are not "one and done". I know that most of us, if not all, will be around to support you in whatever way possible for as long as it takes.

One day we will be back on our feet. It’s going to take time and a lot of hard work but the Best Family never gives in, never gives up and we all have a strong will the beat this thing. It’s the good folks right here on this forum and your caring that gives us strength. I now know 100% that there is a LOT of good folks in this world that will step up and give a family like ours the strength to carry on. We all love you all.

What a wonderful group of people on this forum and others to have backing one facing a catastrophe, such as Joe and his family are facing. I think I will be more thankful this Thanksgiving than others for the lives of his family that survived the ordeal and others I don't know.

Here’s an update.
Insurance companies want PROOF that your house has burned down before they will disperse funds. I can not get my medication filled for myself or my wife without contacting the doctors office cause we are out of town. Well, the doctors office and the hospital has burned down. No phone lines work in Paradise and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
So far we are all holding up but everyday there are more and more challenges to face.
Without this help we would be in the hurt locker, no question.
I can not thank you all enough.

What are the California Senators and Governor doing to help? Hopefully, they would set up a temporary phone system, the banks should set up the same, bring the National Guard in to help, the AMA should help out with Drs and meds. This has been going on too long for no assistance for victims. Come on California.

Joe - You shouldn't have any problem to refill your medication if doctor office or hospital got burned down. Just bring in your medication bottle and tell them your situation and the pharmacist should be able to refill them.
If you still have problem with that, please PM me and I will give you an address of pharmacy where my wife is working. She's a pharmacist manager there and she would do it for you.
I want to say this for our host: I renewed my membership yesterday after previously deciding not to for various reasons. The way PCGS has allowed us to support a member in need by allowing the moderators to be vigilant to prevent excess, yet allow discussion not exactly coin related. So I thank PCGS along with the forum members for their caring about one of our own.

Very devastating, sorry for the loss. It is odd to see the house is completely gone but the wooden fences and all the trees are standing with leaves and little scorching. There must have been underbrush fueling the progression?
Glad to see you got help with refilling prescriptions, one less thing to worry about. Hang in there, things will get better from here.

Air quality this morning in Oakland is horrible. Smoke from the Butte county fire continues to pour in.
