Newp: International Organization of Odd Fellows token overstruck on Indian Cent

Here's an interesting new purchase from the recent Stack's auction:
I.O.O.P token struck over an Indian Cent

Details are pretty clear of the under type, especially on the reverse. The all seeing eye is heralded by three links which stand for "Friendship, Love, and Truth."
The Internation Organization of Odd Fellows is still around, but nowhere near the numbers they had after the Civil War ended. In the 19th century, they were the largest fraternal organization in the United States, larger than the Freemasons at one point.
The bow and arrow are symbols of authority and truthfulness that were often used in there ceremonies and rituals.

They had a large hall/meeting place here in town when I was growing up....never really knew anything about them. Not sure when they 'disappeared' since I left when I was young...They had a large sign that hung above the door to their hall... always wondered why they were odd... ... Neat coin, never saw one of those before. Cheers, RickO

They also overstruck Morgan Dollars (with a cancelled Morgan obverse die!) - I couldn't find the Morgan Dollar side...

The Baltimore connection makes me wonder if any of the big Baltimore collectors of the early 20th century might have been members...

I dont know, really. I've never seen one before. It's mysterious. The exact kind of thing that keeps my interest in this hobby from fading

Unfortunately what they morphed into is most likely nothing related to what they once were i.e. in relation to the civil war. Now they are basically a club of men that screw around, hold meetings with little content and just schmooze.
