Here is a new 1936 counterfeit buffalo nickel, at least one I have never seen before. If real it would be a 1936 3 and one half legged no designer initial variety!

With the doubling in the eyes and the missing temple it could be the full frontal lobotomy variety.

Very interesting... Thanks for showing us that one.... I have not encountered a counterfeit Buff in my collecting years... at least not that I know of... ;) Cheers, RickO

Are you sure that it is new? The definition of the devices is so bad that it reminds me of the contemporary cast counterfeits from years go by.

Would the Chinese be dumb enough to try to market a counterfeit to collectors that is this bad? Why bother to spend to the money to send such a bad copy of a super common coin over here? It just doesn’t make any sense.

If someone recently made it over here, it’s more like a joke than a threat to collectors.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

If it doesn't fool me you know it's a really bad product. ;)

I had no idea there were so many fake bufflers. I'll have to keep my eyes open for some of these contemporary forgeries.

The 1927s counterfeit has two twins, the 1916s and the 1928s.
