Wow. Well I, for one, am looking forward to the first posts from Jwitten2 and Insider 3.
If they are allowed back, they could get their original users reinstated. See the post by @MANOFCOINS above.
Yeah, I was trying to be more tongue in cheek assuming they weren't let back. In full disclosure, I just like the number 7, and I was not actually banned six previous times under user names mvs through mvs6.
Perhaps I should also clarify that I was not banned 3,141 times!

I know @jwitten and @Insider2 post on another forum I frequent. Maybe some of the other banned members do as well under a diff username. As others had said, it's a shame that these members got bounced and hopefully it is only temporary. IMO, with the exception of the original antagonist O2O, they provided interesting, helpful, and knowledgeable posts. Hopefully I'll see them on the other sites if they were thrown out with the bathwater
It is easy to say ignore the trolls, but a lot of people have a tough time just ignoring someone whose sole purpose seems to be to antagonize and attack others.
In general, bullies, stalkers, etc. all share certain traits and ignoring them can sometimes be dangerous, at least in the real world.
As for online troublemakers, I sometimes try to imagine what sort of person an aggressive troll is in real life. I suspect that they are the ones who engage in "road rage", vandalism, etc.
Gosh I hate that Insider2 and crazyhounddog were banned. I said from day 1 that disagree was not a useable tool without forcing a comment to accompany it. I think this pretty much shows that solely because of it's existance we are experiencing the loss of true contributors and great additions to this forum. I don't know if one is allowed back after expulsion but I certainly request that they are.

I visit there from time to time, but if the NGC forum is Sleepy Hollow then that coin forum is Narcolepsy Boulevard. But the posters do like the word "smoe", I'll give them that.
I hope the powers that be are reading this thread.
First off, get rid of the DISAGREE button. It's been a useless bone of contention since day one.
Second, The FLAG button. In any forum it's an important tool to report occasional problem people but THIS IS THE ONLY FORUM that I have personally seen where the person being reported can see who reported them. That just fosters even worse conduct from the immature.
The FLAG button needs to stay, but it's use must ONLY BE SEEN BY MODERATORS.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

You can't see "report ". You can see the other flags
The whole episode is reminiscent of Bloody December 2006 around these parts although then the hot topic was some folks' opinion on how PCGS should run its business as I recall.
I'm glad some are back participating.

None of that should be visible to the person being reported.
One of the funniest days ever was when PCGS flipped the switch and we were able to see who was leaving all the flags and disagrees. There were quite a few members caught with their pants down that day, including some of the old timers.

Oh my... I remember that!! It was about 6 months or so after I had joined. At the time, I hadn't actually met anyone from the boards and was just interested in learning as much as I could from the forum members with whom I engaged. I think that's sage advice these days as well... I just don't do drama. That said, this is a much different forum than it was 12 years ago...

Please reconsider @Insider2 & @crazyhounddog a chance to come back; they've been an excellent contributors to this community .... many can attest to it.
Thank you for your consideration.

The "vaults" here on CU Forums are so full of priceless knowledge that I have spent my fair time perusing them. I frequently have found great content by banned users and wondered what happened. Clicking on their user name would show a prolific, knowledgeable poster. It was hard to imagine why they were banned.
This is my first time seeing it happen and I am saddened that we are losing some great contributors. This place is like a giant "think-tank" for my favorite topic.
I visit there from time to time, but if the NGC forum is Sleepy Hollow then that coin forum is Narcolepsy Boulevard. But the posters do like the word "smoe", I'll give them that.
May be true, but if you participated more, it would be less “dead”
That’s part of the trouble. Lots of guests, not lots of folks willing to chat.
You can't see "report ". You can see the other flags

Maybe. There's 2 sides to that. Anonymous reporting would allow a troll to go around flagging everyone silently. A group of people could then gang up anonymously on someone. On the other hand, putting your name on it visibly might (and has) lead to retaliation.
That's why it's probably just best to - except for extreme cases - just ignore people.

I did go and check out this forum after it was mentioned. I belong to another coin forum and enjoy looking for other sources of info, networking, etc. Can you tell me/us a little about the forum/vibe/compare/contrast to give an idea. I do not mind slow if there are worthwhile answers. Different places have different niches and benefits. This place is amazing but I like to supplement it with what is available.
As for online troublemakers, I sometimes try to imagine what sort of person an aggressive troll is in real life. I suspect that they are the ones who engage in "road rage", vandalism, etc.
I’ve belonged to several boards for different hobbies. It seems the coin groups attract more than their fair share of troublemakers. Wonder why that is.
Message boards can be tricky sometimes.
1. Ignore the buttons at the bottom. Just don't touch them ever.
2. Ignore any "score" or "decoration" or other fake thing that exists.
3. On a message board, your only value or lack thereof comes from what you type in. That is how people will know you. Nobody will judge you by what other people type, we will just judge them. Specialist eventually learned this in conversation with Bill. It just took awhile.
Ironically, many of the old-timers that claim younger folk don't know how to use the written language are now getting tripped up by it on a new platform. I call it the "millennial revenge".

be careful what you say here there could be round 2 of banning (not kidding) some of us here are pushing the envelope. I would imagine the members that are banned will be back soon in mean time lets not add to that list.

high doubt temporary bans exist here, i gather once you are banned it's over for you on this site no second chances
Good thing there is no longer a disagree button, because I would disagree with that.
There have been a few members, or the years, including within the last few, that have been banned for a short time (essentially, given a temp ban or a short time out) and then come back with the ok of the one who banned them.
It happens. It is up to PCGS management to make the decision.
