PCGS 1955 DDO Counterfeit

Reported through coincommunity last week but Bobby’s stock is obviously falling with his eBay contact.

The coin isn’t worth talking about but I’m more interested to hear discussions regarding the holder. Have at it.

That is one horrible, unconvincing, modern counterfeit and the PCGS holder is not even close too!

:o The coin is an obvious fake, as is the holder....though the cert number does go to a '55 DDO...Cheers, RickO

The coin Cert numbers appears on PCGS cert database but the coin looks like a vary bad coppery of a real PCGS stab with a DD 1955 Lincoln. Maybe next time I share a coin I should cover up my cert number to prevent coppes from using the same Sert number. God thing now PCGS has new counterfeit proof holograms and gold shield 👍

Ray Charles could tell they're both fake.

Folks, is there a link available that details the history of PCGS holders? I'm woefully ignorant regarding the different types over the years although I probably own at least one of each.

The insert tag and pcgs holder are different generations.

I mentioned this in my previous counterfeit thread but few believed the coin was counterfeit. I actually showed the pictures of my counterfeit 84-s to a CAC grader and he immediately said the date is 100% off and the coin is no good :)

may the fonz be with you...always...

The seller likely knows the coin is fake. If I was selling a 55 DDO I’d have multiple glamour shots displaying the doubling.

It's a fake slab. The font is wrong on the label. This copy of the 1955 Doubled Die has been floating around for a while.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
