Which Morgan should I keep in my box of 20 type set?
I have 3 Morgan dollars and can't decide which one to keep in my box of 20. The reverses are all mostly white with a little peripheral toning - nothing positive or negative.
1881-S MS64 rattler
1885 MS64 green label
1887 MS65 VAM-11 white ANACS

I like the rainbow look of #3. Judging the appearance only.

Bad transactions with : nobody to date
Like them all but, if if I had to pick, I'd pick the 1885 ogh green label 64.

Geez that's a tough one, all three are nice but in the end I think I'd keep the 85
I like #2, #3, then #1. But i do like all of them.

They are all toners, probably one-sided toners. If any of them are two-sided tones, I'd keep that one. Otherwise, it's which one you like the best. To me the 1881-S is a nothing date because it's so common in high grade with great luster. The 1887 appears to be over graded as an MS-65. As for the grade of the others, I can't tell from those photos.
Keep the top 2, send either one to me for safe keeping until you’re down to 19 or decide to exceed 20. Then I’ll be glad to mail it back to you, or buy it.
Are you confused? I am
I'd keep 1 over 2 - 3 doesn't do as much for me.

I like the ANACS one over the other two
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
`1887-S
I already have 1st dibs on it
It’s an 1887-P, the $ is not an S
Number 2 is my favorite by a nose over number 3.
Truly, whichever one speaks to you the most. However, if it were up to me and the choice limited to these three obverses then I would choose the 1885.

Fine.... Dibs on the Rattler!! LOL
Personally I like the '85 the best followed by the '81-S. And if you do end up selling the rattler, let me know.
I like #3, but please enlighten me on why you guys like #2 over #1. I don't get it ...
Keep the one you like the best. The "orientation" of the toning on #2 is my least favorite. The ANACS coin looks more like a 64 than a 65, but I can't tell what the others look like.

I like the toning on the 1887 (#3) the best, but I doubt it would cross into PCGS plastic at 65. I could be wrong, but from the pics you have, there's a bit of chatter on the cheek and in front of Ms. Liberty...

...who does number 2 work for???...apparently you...keep him employed

The 1885 is the coolest toner IMO. I’d keep that one.
3 !!!
Maybe you really want #4 in the box! Don't get me wrong, all of these look great....but if you are having trouble deciding, maybe none of them are really meeting what you are trying to accomplish! Good luck!

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
What Smudge said.
I'd keep all. This would be a 'Sophie's Choice' scenario for me. But if I could only keep one, it would be #2 due to the color.
No '87-S It is a $-sign. If there was an '87-S, that would be the one to keep.
Sorry, can't tell from the photos. But - put the best quality (detail and lack of marks) in the Box-o-20 and put the other two in your desk for future trades.
Thanks for the opinion. I'll look at it in a little different light
Number 2 1885
Definitely not the rattler.
Torn between the ogh and ANACS. Slightly leaning towards ANACS.
I like the crescent toner, but if you sell all three you’ll have money for one one really nice one.
All 3 and make it a box of 22..
I like the color on number 3
See ?? Then I would have been right.
I gotta get new glasses.
They are all nice but I would go with 3
Now, that I have re examined the trio. I stand by my first choice the 1887 no S
2 if I were choosing.
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
You bring up a possibility I hadn't considered, but it is a good one as all 3 have some qualities I like.
The 1885 with a slight edge over the 1887.
I think the 1885 has much nicer toning than the other 2. I'd go with the 1885.
I would go with the 1885. Looks like a little more unique pattern than the others.
The 85P and call it "Breaking Dawn" ...
Nice Morgan!
I like the '87 ANACS, and if you decide to keep one of the others I think it would get some attention on the BST.
I like #2 the best

lol, now it's a race 1, 2 or 3
THREE -- I prefer its more-subtle toning.
And someone cared enough about this coin to get it attributed. (VAM 11).

I prefer #3 and it may partially be it's the best image. I like the eye appeal though doubt it's a MS65 today.
