I posted updates in my earlier thread a few comments above. Up to date on needs and wants. I am trying to avoid buying even a single loose pack more; hope I can get as much done here before finishing things out on eBay. Thanks!

UPDATED AS OF APRIL 15, 2019
    Hey All!

I did not think I would put a "70" set of Heritage together (never a huge fan of the design) but got sucked in nonetheless. All bets will be off for the "71" design as I may buy a case for that next year.

In any event, my list of needs and what I have to trade is listed below. I have purchased exclusively retail boxes. With about 1500 base cards, I am still short a few cards of a single base set (lackluster collation). Here it goes:

    WANTS

    SP-- 405, 410, 415, 416, 422, 428, 429, 433, 434, 442, 447, 453, 454, 455, 458, 460, 461, 463, 465, 466, 467, 468, 471, 473, 478, 479, 482, 483, 484, 489, 491, 496, 497

    Candy Lids: 1, 10, 14, 15

Cloth Stickers: I need all of these except for Nos. 2 and 6

    New Age Performers: 10, 15, 16, 18, 25

    Then and Now: 2, 3, 6, 8, 10, 11

Baseball Flashbacks: Brooks Robinson, Yaz, Hank Aaron, Juan Marichal, Tom Seaver

    News Flashbacks: 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 13, 14

    Scratchoffs-- 4, 5, 9, 11, 13

Any Willie McCovey inserts save for the Baseball Flashbacks

    Hiya Matt

I'm completely finished. I just wanted people to see your update here.

In fact, I was at Target yesterday and resisted the 10 or so blasters - I have a suspicion Topps let the presses "fly" this year?

Prices of hobby boxes has actually gone down.

    Wooooooooooooôöòóœøōõ

I found the Greatest of all Time Heritage card (to me, anyhow)
My favorite coin is the Jefferson Nickel, team: Phillies, current player: Rhys Hoskins, card 2019 Heritage.
I found this on eBay just now and nearly had an anxiety attack!
Checked Paypal balance, other eBay listings, none, and went all in.

I have been wanting one of these Nickel cards, but eBay prices from $69-$250 were just too steep for me to rationalize for a nickel worth 5¢ 10¢ at best, pressed into cardboard, with a random player.
I ended up winning a Corey Kluber Nickel card Tonight on the bay, and then found the Hoskins. I won the Kluber for a shocking low price, and Hoskins was about four times the Kluber price.
    Happy dance in progress B)

Very nice addition to your collection Rocco.

How great is it that you were able to combine you passion for coins, nickels in particular, and your old but newly re-invigorated passion for baseball cards, Phillies in particular. Talk about a win win.

    Congratulations Rocco.

Didn't pull one - last year I did pull a stamp tho.

And the nickel is really shiny. You can trade it in for a 52T pack!

If you did try to pay with a 1970 nickel in 1952, I’m not sure how that would go over.....

After all these years I finally hit a "Hot Box". Bought a few retail blaster boxes at Target. First pack a purple border chrome. Second a Judge purple. Only then did I believe I had one. Other chrome of note was a Sale. 2 SP's,1 candy lid,1 NAP,A Joplin News Flashbacks, 1 Scratch off (Rizzo).

Successful transactions:Tookybandit. "Everyone is equal, some are more equal than others".

    Nice pull @BLUEJAYWAY !

I found a Judge SP the other day. I figured out that dumping all my spare change in the target self service register will buy a blaster :) and no fees like coin star

Great thread guys, I don’t get much time to build sets but do rip packs with my little ones. We got a blaster case that was a lot of fun. Couple autos and a stamp card of Carlton. Not big into selling, but may put these up to defray the costs of our inevitable spend on HHN and Archives.

Rocco, that Hoskins is an awesome card, congrats!

    John

Conundrum - Loving my unopened baseball card collection....but really like ripping too

What is up With the action prints? Are they an entirely separately numbered set I have two different 392s one is a RYNE Stanek base card 392

the action is 392 Danny Jansen. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

I know about those but all the 401 and up, are just a variety of the same card number. The Jansen is #392 Action and the Stanek is a normal 392 (different player)

  • krisd3279krisd3279 Posts: 808 ✭✭✭✭

According to the checklist in the link that is correct. Same number different player. I don't know if they are all like that. I think I only have one action variation.

Cool. Thanks for looking that up. I get confused trying to understand all the permutations of the checklist/s.

I have an Altuve, Harper, Hoskins, and Jansen now.
