I got the Neshek cards on eBay, I am very excited about them. I started watching games online and have been thoroughly enjoying matching players to their cards.

Looking for any non-base Phillies cards, action, nickname, French, chrome, short print, error. Also interested in other various action cards, relics, autographs

Looks like somebody made a trade with Pat Neshek.

Dan & Mike, your cards have gone out earlier this week. Starting Sunday will be gone a couple weeks, will try to check in a couple times while on vacay.

    Thanx Dave.

I have opened a hobby case, 7 blasters , & 6 10 pack boxes direct from Topps which is 404 total packs and close to 140 SP's out of them. Then made several trades here and still was missing 430 until this AM when one of the members came up with it. Then Mike I know you've opened a ton of packs too and still missing that 426. This gets a little aggravating at times though I do like the trade aspect of what we do.

FINALLY have my PC Base set fully picked along with sub sets... what a fun process this is. Not easy either with a already busy schedule! Thanks to my buys, a slew of trades, and some generous offers I am very close to my initial Master Set goals. I look forward to polishing it off and getting it into a binder. I also look forward to helping anyone I can in search of base, subset, and SP’s.

Are the action and nickname cards only found in the hobby boxes? I have opened close to 90 packs (retail) and no luck on cool stuff beyond random purple and chromes scratchers and lids

Not sure about this year, tho I suspect others can confirm. I did pull the Trout nickname out of a blaster last year. I believe it was a Walmart blaster.

Conundrum - Loving my unopened baseball card collection....but really like ripping too

Another question. The contest entry instructions on packs and boxes say
    “one per household”
    And also say
“Only one card per envelope, mailed separately “

Thank you everyone who has answered any of my questions, I appreciate the explanations.

So I can only send in one entry per mailing address? Correct?

    Hiya Rocco

Here's a good link to abbreviation stats on a BB card:

    LINK

They don't explain "R" other than to say "run" - what they mean: when a base runner crosses home for any reason - he's assigned a "run scored" to his record which is the "R" on the stat list.

    Explaining WAR: LINK

Explaining SLG: LINK (IMO, the SLG is a better way to gauge the "productivity" of a batter - i.e. to say - a power hitter could have a lower batting average than a singles hitter but do more to affect the outcome of a game with more doubles, triples and HRs e.g.)

    Hiya George

Only the Super box topers - I've got all - now - but the Soto.

Did a nice purchase of 11 on eBay.

I do have a few dups - will be looking for someone who has the Soto to trade for the Clemente e.g.

I was thinking you should send it in to that department at Topps, and get them all to autograph it. I bet they might have signed it too, lol.

I picked up another box last night. If I rip it later today I may be able to help you guys out. At the moment I don't have a lot of trading material left.

Now "this" is a bit forward thinking - sorta like 2 days after the national, people are talking about the next.

I was thinking about next year's design - 1971 Topps "black" borders.

    I was considering - perhaps - skipping?

But, if this is a portend to the future? I think I'll be OK.

I was looking at the black border cards this year and Topps seems to be doing a good job with the cutting:

    What do you guys think?

Mike they have done a tremendous job with cutting. There were OC cards but not many WAY OC ... but even then most have been very clean. Just some minor chipping here and there but there has been a clean "score line" that stopped chipping from getting into the meat of the cards and even they look very neat. Kind of like a forest fire fire break line LOL. So I do think this is a good sign for next year.
