Some issues pop up more than others
The incuse gold $5 Indian and the WLH.... Great U.S. coins....Cheers, RickO
$20 liberty gold ( i love the high grades as we all do ) and the seated coin
My favourite always seems to be the next design I'm searching for to update my type set.
I'm all over the place.
lately buffalo nickels, and little bit of capped bust quarters (small) as I see them at shows
+1 Me too .... I am all over the place and then some.
I've given this question some thoughts the last couple days and could not come up with an answer because I love them all
draped bust half dollars and no motto seated half dollars
Type 1 Standing Liberty Quarter
I got a coin in today that I really like the design.
It is Big and Silver, made by the US Mint, with a Viking Ship on one side and a Viking on the other.
PUUUUULIIISSSEEEEEE let me see the pictures
ummm maybe, it is a really big error coin .... Looks just like a "Lightning Storm" at sea
Flowing Hair Large Cents, Dimes, Quarters, Halves and Dollars. Oh, and Saint Gaudens and Incuse Indian Gold.
And hammered field Proof Gold Buffalos.
I knew it would happen.
Man, this is a tough question to answer! Over time I would expect that my answer has changed significantly. Additionally, the grade level or method of manufacture certainly would play a part in my decision. Also, favorite coin design does not equate to favorite series to collect, at least in my mind and with the evaluation I will present. I've given this a fair bit of thought and would break down my list as follows-
Entire coin (both obverse and reverse)-
Buffalo Nickel
Connecticut Half Dollar
Oregon Half Dollar
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
My favorite reverse are the various Seated Liberty Quarter, Half and Dollars. I don't know what the name of it is, or if there is a specific name for the design.
For the Obverse it's the Indian Head Cent.
Collector of randomness. Photographer at PCGS. Lover of Harry Potter.
Peace Dollar and Franklin Half for me. Love the eagle on the reverse of the Peace. Love the liberty bell on Franklins reverse
Morgans, Peace bucks, Bust dollars, Walker halves and $50 private minted gold slugs.
Bubble Headed (Cheek) Bleach Blond Peace Dollars (1921), and that coin with Black Diamond on it.
Pete
Sort of in the Classic Commem series?
My favorite federal issues are the draped bust and flowing hair silver as well as the 1793 half cents and large cents.
1) Standing Liberty quarter
2) Barber quarter
3) Mercury dime

The Walking Liberty Half and the Indian Eagle are my favorite designs on U.S. coinage.
The entertainment can never be overdressed....except in burlesque
1913 Buffalo Nickel
2001 Buffalo Silver
2006 Buffalo Gold...……..
Very good selection Ke Mo Sabe.
Pete
Buffalos and Gobrecht dollars with an honorable mention for Walkers.
$20 Saints
$10 Indians
WLH
SLQ
Saints and Walking Liberty.
Not mine (I wish).
I like most U.S. coins (nix a few).
I really like copper for some reason, because it's the most reactive metal and harder to find in good condition?
I don't know.
Hey, I NEED this one:
I knew it would happen.
Draped Bust ...
The 1907 High Relief $20 Gold ...
And the 1794, Heaad of '94 large cents. It's hard to believe that coin that looked this elegant was only a cent.
I am glad no one has chosen any of the dead president coins. From cent to half dollar they have been minted since 1909, 1938, 1946, 1932 and 1964.
The dead president coins need to die and be replaced with something else that represents the best aspects of the USA.
Liberty for example.
There is nothing outstanding about any of the “dead presidents” designs although in fairness to the Jefferson Nickel designer, the government die sinkers changed so much from Felix Schlag’s original design that he ended up being more of a consultant than a designer.
Yes-his original reverse design is far superior to the mess that was chosen.
I like 'em all before we began putting real people on them.
Lady Liberty Rocks!
My top 5:
1. Saint
2. Walker
3. Merc
4. Buff
5. Oregon half

I really like the $10.00 Indian Gold Eagle design.
Indian, in profile, on the obverse.
Eagle on the reverse.
Simple, uncluttered and elegant on both sides of the coin. High grade examples of this coin with booming luster are stunning.
Not my favorite, but I like the reverse design on Gothic Crowns.
