I inherited a full Lincoln Set(minus the 09-S VDB & 55DD)from a relative who passed away many years ago and they are housed in 2 of those albums. I have no idea how to get the coins out though. The plastic does not want to move at this point.

Interesting ... I have both of those ...

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

As long as you just want them out, rip off the front of each page including the slide - then they will pop out like a one-sided album.

I have seen some very nice peripheral toning on nickels that have been in these albums for 30+ years.

You can also remove the slides with a pin.

I have had luck with using a tweezers or a needle-nosed pliers to pull stubborn slides out.

    Always trying to learn more

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't plan on doing anything with them. On one occasion, I just wanted to remove a coin to take a photo. I will just leave them alone for now.

I see quite a few at some of the pawn shops I frequent. I bought a Jefferson nickel set with some incredible toning on ALL the nickels from 1938-1960 in un-circulated condition. All of them are in my Dansco toner A and B albums. The original album is now my toning album with another set on nickels residing in a very un-friendly human area but great area for a new batch of toners to grow.

From my experience . . those LOC albums are the most highly prized of the entire series. I have the pair and collect older albums and Boards in general . . . .and that pair, along with the old Oberwise/Raymond Large Cent Boards can command a fairly interesting premium . . . .
