Yellow Submarine was the first movie that I ever saw at an indoor theater. A bit earlier.

The striking thing about 'Smokey and the Bandit' is how purely and perfectly that all the principal characters were played. Classic American archetypes. Even the hound dog (the actual dog) in the semi-tractor was perfect.

The signs in 'Smokey and the Bandit had regular gasoline at 45.9 cents per gallon.

I can't recommend it due to the subject matter but "Boogie Nights" had an outstanding performance by an older BR.

RIP. Smokey and the Bandit had some tough competition opening weekend. It got clobbered by a sci-fi movie that came out at the same time that was supposed to be a disaster -- Star Wars.

He was to play the owner of the ranch that Manson was renting

Did you all see his guest appearances on Fast and Loud?
Gas Monkey Garage built a Bandit TransAm and Richard and Aaron went to visit Burt to get his signature on the glove box door and a $25,000 bonus.

They had a spoof of the Smokey and the Bandit movie that was a classic.
