I just want to point out how *terrible* Harris tubes are

I went and bought myself a couple of those 10x10 boxes of cent tubes. absolutely infuriating.
it's like they didn't even test them. sometimes the coins fit, most of the time they don't. it's incredible that companies can just sell whatever they have on hand regardless of if they do the job or not............
if you're into wrapping tubes in a towel to smash them with a hammer in order to get your coins out.. have at it.

Yikes, sorry that you have to experience that, but thanks for sharing your frustrations, so others can learn !!!
Any recommendations from anyone for decent (and cheap) tubes?
Obviously Harris tubes are out...
Wonder if they were made in Ghinah! Peace Roy

I agree I bought 100 nickel tubes from them. The nickels went about half way down and that's it. Junk

Wow...Thanks for the warning.... have been thinking about getting some cents tubes - I have a hoard of wheaties....Will look elsewhere for sure. Cheers, RickO
The fact that your coins won't come out of the tubes easily is evidence that they are counterfeits. Please send them all to me and I will dispose of them properly.
I thought it was just me. I turned to using the tubes for ear plugs and ibuprofen for my backpack and other uses, not coins anymore. I’ve basically stopped buying plastic tubes for now.
Don't know about cheap.....I've been using: NUMIS SQUARE TUBES and never had an issue.
Paper works just fine. I get the ones already crimped on one end.

BCW has a lot listed on eBay.
I like the square coin safe ones a lot because they stay standing upright better but they don't look as cool because they are cloudy and you can't see the coin edges clearly.
I have a couple hundred of the Numis square tubes sitting around. Good stuff, fairly cheap. The Harris and other round, hard plastic tubes are indeed crap. I've had full dollar tubes shatter in transit to me.

we sell this product in our store and never have a problem or complaint. the only thing that even slightly resembles what the OP said is that sometimes the bottom coin requires an upside-down tap of the tube to come out.
I wonder if any of the critics have ever worked in manufacturing or an industrial plastic processing environment?? there is every likelihood that that is what the problem is, a batch of tubes encountered a manufacturing problem that QA missed. it happens and it doesn't seem to justify "slamming" an entire company and product line.
Perhaps they were stored in a hot environment or in direct sun for a while
Steve
Are they for Canadian cents?
i stay away from harris as well. ive had some problems with them before and until its correct..........
I prefer the square Numis tubes

I like the square tubes also, they are worth a little more.
I don't know who makes them, or if it is all brands, but I hate it when the round tubes shrink around the coins and the entire roll gets stuck in the Tube, It can be a lot of work to get them out without damaging the coins.
I find that even though the square tubes should provide better storage almost to a customer we have no one that wants them. also, what OldEastside mentioned bears some consideration.
I don’t know if the coin tubes you have pictured in your post are the ones you are trying to use for cents but your picture shows dime tubes.
The are made for 1917 Proof cents with the reduced diameter.
Use the correct tube.
I have some old Anco's, I don't do much with tubes.
I bought some quarter tubes for silver quarters and they got stuck halfway down the tube. It does seem like their quality control is lax.
I had a roll of cents that just wouldn't go into the plastic tube. Then I noticed that one of them was about 40% off-center.
I knew it would happen.

Keets is on to something. Pack, pressure, hold can greatly effect the molding process by several thousands of an inch.
Usually, once the process is set it’s not changed by the molder.

I haven't had issues with the coins fitting in the tubes, but instead with the covers staying on.
