I wonder if Daniel Carr would overstrike this and replace the headdress with actual flowing hair.....maybe tweak the eye and put a little Mona Lisa smile on her face......
Also, for those not used to medal grading, the 2.5 ounce silver will likely require an oversize holder of $20 on top of say the $30 PCGS Gold Shield economy special issues medal rate (less than $300 value). So add $50 for a graded medal with TrueView's, plus shipping.
This partially explains why some are asking $199+ for graded medals with a $99 Mint price, plus some do FDOI's for another fee.
If this is like what I have seen for other large medals, the PCGS holder is much more compact, lighter, and looks way better than an NGC holder for oversize medals IMO.
Too bad about the added cost, But then again, I really do prefer the PCGS holders over NGC for moderns regardless of the size of the coin, including the 5 ounce or’s.
I believe PCGS does a lot better job of making their slabs look more sophisticated, mature and sometimes a better presentation then the Mint boxes.
Specs for the 2.5 oz Silver
I tried to see the rule for going to the oversized holder but can't seem to find it.
Of course CS is closed. What is the max size coin for a regular coin? Is this Silver Liberty @ 2" too big and needs the larger holder? Searching the PCGS site didn't turn up the info. Google search also was a fail.

Searched for NGC Oversized Holder and got these requirements. PCGS could match...maybe...don't you think?
If PCGS requirements are even close then the Silver Liberty would need the oversized holder and the extra cost.
The photo above, provided by @MilesWaits, indicates an oversized holder is needed. Thanks Miles.
Yes, that is a good question, what I am surprised by is the size of the holder in comparison to the coin?
It either makes the coin looks smaller or that is a quite big holder.
I think that if the legends on the reverse could have been diminished (or gotten rid of) that would have helped the gold coin. The silver less cluttered; I still have not got my mind around the obverse and like the earlier 2015 and 2017 renditions better. At 1940, I'll pass on the gold - maybe at 1500 which would require gold to tank....

Label created last Friday. I at least expected it to be on a truck by this time, but no... (I suspect the gold will go out first, since they're automatically upgraded to expedited, but this is pretty slow, even by mint standards...)
I suspect I won't get the medal until the 27th or 28th now...

I believe the NGC holder is about 5-3/4 by 7-1/2 inch, even larger than the plastic cases dvd's come in. It is huge to make a 2 inch coin look this small.
I think Liberty is facing a strong headwind, both in the world today and on these coins.
That's the allegorical message being conveyed. (and the reason for her squint and flowing hair)
I saw these coins displayed at the Mint's area at the ANA Show last week. They were not as high relief as I had expected. The line was not very long at noon on the 15th. The line to get the Director's autograph was longer.

I see "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item" on the USPS Informed delivery for my order of the Liberty Au & Ag. Are you also getting that when checking on your order?
I just got off the phone with the Mint CS. Here is what I was told:

You are signed up for USPS Informed Delivery but that doesn't track Stupid Post till the package is turned over to the post office for final delivery.

You are not signed up for USPS Informed Delivery?
Yes. But the ID doesn’t kick in until the handoff to USPS which is usually the same day of delivery. It’s the the 1-2 weeks of “special care” with FEDEX that is the sleeper. The FEDEX app doesn’t provide much detail either.
What’s “funny” is I have accts with both FEDEX and UPS.
How do I track my USPS SmartPost?
fedex smartpost has 20 digit tracking number trackable on fedex website. After it has been transferred to usps, you can track it on usps website by prefixing 92 to the 20 digit tracking number of fedex smartpost mentioned earlier. So the usps tracking number becomes 22 digit.Apr 17, 2017

Yes, I just received my shipment notice for the Medal which includes one of the Innovation coins.

No. I would be really surprised if I liked it in hand but could happen.
My gold has shipped per email.

The eagle is awesome
The obverse on the actual posted pic doesn’t really look that bad
I bought the medal for the eagle. It's the right size and weight to be a real high-relief strike. I should look stunning in matte,
I think the obverse sucks could be better. But you know what they say about opinions.
(I have a tracking number, but it's only a "label created", which means it probably won't move until next Tuesday...)

Something “broke” at PFSWeb’s shipping dept last week. IMO
Presentation box looks the same as the gold. Thinking nice gift.
But I got to get over that obverse.

Too much open space, not a good job of framing this coin. And the graphics on the NGC are amateurish compared to the PCGS.
I will stick with our host!
Personally, I like this 2 ounce high relief silver better.

They show it shipped and my CC was billed. They only charge the CC upon shipment. So I have to fill out a Certificate Of Non-Receipt ( https://catalog.usmint.gov/on/demandware.static/-/Sites-USM-Library/default/dw66aa568b/images/PDFs/certification-of-non-receipt-form-061818.pdf ) This is a PDF which will take your input. It can be emailed back to the address shown at the bottom of the form. She said it could take 4 to 6 weeks to investigate.
Please let me know if are having this problem.
I had to choose to pay for my annual Auto policy over getting the gold but would love to get one. It sure is pretty.
I did get the silver as well.

I have found that the emailed link that is generated is sometimes not formatted properly.
