Do they have a large selections of books for sale from each of the authors? Or is it BYOB...

I understand that Whitman will have all of their titles plus some others. The authors will likely sign whatever books collectors wish -- after all, it draws traffic to Whitman's booth.

I hope to be able to stop by. Much of my library is in storage from living overseas but perhaps have a few copies on hand to get signed

I ave a Wayne Gretzky rookie card that's already been signed by Pete Rose and Chuck Wepner. I'd be honored if you could add your signature to that.

I met Roger W. Burdette at the ANA for the first time, very nice guy, and great conversation!

Yep. Rich is a fine fellow. We were sitting outside the door of the Stack's-Bowers luncheon on Wed. We chatted about his plans and how they were working out, etc. Rich was invited for lunch; I was there to meet a collector and return some coins he had loaned to me for research. :)

As for the Whitman book signings, I think most of the people who stopped by were there to see Dave Bowers and Ken Bressett - the rest of us chickens were just for the comfy chairs.

Both Dave and Ken paid special attention to the kids who stopped by with parents in tow -- many were getting their first Guide Book and were amazed to meet these two numismatic luminaries!

Maybe - if it's not inappropriate here - the next large show could have an authors' table populated by several authors at the same time. Kind of a place to chat with collectors, sign books or articles, and so forth. (I don't think we're ready for "show worn" shoes, hats or jerseys....)
