THE BIRTHPLACE OF MARY SAWYER, Sterling, Massachusetts has long claimed to be the birthplace of the well-known nursery rhyme, “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”
The poem was written by John Roulstone, a visitor to the classroom on the day in 1815 that Mary Sawyer was followed to school by her pet lamb. Henry Ford even purchased the schoolhouse the event was reported to have happened in and moved it to the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA.

Sold the Spit window bus. The cash bought a new Metris..
Rounded corners, no protrusions, no kneeling— That’s because I’m old. I kept tolerances less than 1/16”-1/32”—no gaps meant no need to hide joints with trim. The design of the interior was the result of fifteen years planning. My thinking being that one goes camping to be outside, not hang around inside. On Vancouver Island we took in a family of seven in a storm that ruined their camp site. No stinky water storage, galley, or stove inside. We access the gear that we use often from the outside. We camp. Sportsmobile of Fresno installed the sleeping roof.
For this Friday's posting, here are aerial views taken from flying over Nevada this week:
Pictured below are aerial views approaching Las Vegas including Lake Mead followed by Lake Las Vegas.
Finally, the landing at the Las Vegas airport. Of note is the newly built Sphere seen on the Las Vegas Strip. Its surface changes into many different images, the most impressive of which I saw was its turning into a huge basketball:
WhenI I was growing up, my Grampa always gave me these Texco Christmas specials on Christma day. This one looks like what I got one Christmas morning. Love the memories.
I had the "Matchbox" version of the pictured gas station. Lots of fun back in the 60's. I believe BP was the brand of gas.

I photographed this one Friday while visiting my cousin's car museum, Nostalgia Street Rods located on Cameron Street in Las Vegas.
