Everyone knows who Uma Thurman is, but few people are aware that she was born in Boston and raised in Amherst. Thurman's father is one of the country's pre-eminent Buddhist scholars and, when she was a child, the Dalai Lama sometimes visited her house!

The Medallion being minted today is new one and it honors "Native Son" Samuel Clemens a/k/a Mark Twain who adopted that pen name when he wrote for a Carson City Newspaper. Coincidentally a mural of Mark Twain was just completed this past week on the side wall of the Nevada State Museum which includes the original Carson City Mint Building.
The new Mark Twain Medallion was just issued in conjunction with The Inaugural Mark Twain Days Festival in Carson City which was just held last week. Next Saturday will be the last Saturday for minting the Mark Twain Medallion.
Along with viewing several of the Nevada State Museums non-numismatic offerings including this one relating to Ranching in Nevada with a photo taken at a location within walking distance of the Fort Halleck Ranch on w:hich their Great Grandfather grew up:

I’m VERY happy to say I have finally purchased the 70th Anniversary Edition 2023 Corvette stingray convertible. It has the Z51 performance package and zips pretty good.

O'Brien worked on "The Simpsons" and "SNL," before becoming the host of "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." He was born in Boston and later attended Harvard.
There are two types of squirrels that predominantly habitat the Lake Tahoe basin. One is a tree squirrel known as the Douglas Squirrel or Chickaree. The other is a ground squirrel known as the Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel which is the one pictured in my photo. It belongs to a larger group of Sierra Ground Squirrels.
There are two types of squirrels that predominantly habitat the Lake Tahoe basin. One is a tree squirrel known as the Douglas Squirrel or Chickaree. The other is a ground squirrel known as the Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel which is the one pictured in my photo. It belongs to a larger group of Sierra Ground Squirrels.
Looks a little more intelligent than our Grey Squirrels here in Boston
