A spider that I spotted in my rose bush this morning. I was able to stack a few shots to get some more detail than I would’ve otherwise. Anyone know what kind of spider it is?
It's a Cat Faced Orb Weaver. They look scary, but are completely harmless to people.

Most people don’t know that Boston Harbor is often used as a dry dock location for ships in need of repair. Many ships have come into the dry docks over the years to be repaired, even the Queen Elizabeth 2, which was once in need of hull repair in the dry docks after running aground on the Nantucket Shoals during a Southampton to New York run in the early 1990s.

If a case needed to be made for a piece of robot operated heavy equipme3nt, that photo has to be it.
When I was in grade school a friend on my block lost his dad due to a bulldozer that rolled off a steep incline.
Years later I was involved in products liability litigation that helped to promote the requirement of ROPS (Roll Over Protection) devices to help save the lives of heavy equipment operators encountering the roll over dangerthat took the life of my childhood friend.
For this Friday's posting here are some selected photos that I have taken in Hawaii as sourced from my photo archives..
They include a concert put on by the Royal Hawaiian Band on the grounds of Oahu's Iolani Palac as well as the King Kamehameha statue that stands across from the palace in front of the building that Hawaii Five-0 viewers will recognize as the Hawaii Five-0 Task Force headquarters. The Iolani Palace, which today is open to the public as a museum, was the Royal Residence of Hawaii's Kings and Queens from when it opened in 1879. The building behind the statue is known as Ali'iolani Hale.
Historically Ali'iolani Hale was Territorial Hawaii's primary courthouse and there remains today in it a restored courthouse room from that era open to the public. Circa 1928 the last capital punishment trial resulting in a conviction was held there prior to Hawaii abolishing the death penalty.
Ironically 1928 was the year that Hawaii's United States Commemerative coin was issued and it depicts, in addition to the discoverer Captain Cook, a Hawaiian Chieftain that was modeled after the statue that stands in front of the then courthouse. Today the building functionally houses the Hawaii State Supreme Court.
