Good morning to all from EST. Pouring rain better than snow. First cup of coffee and what a pleasant surprise! I just took a whirlwind trip across the planet thru your pics. Thanks and have a good day. Peace Roy

No idea what kind of rock but just liked the way it looked.
I'm guessing it's some kind of sedimentary rock such as sandstone. Very cool.
Not a sandstone, SS's are formed by sand sized grains being deposited in places like beaches and dunes. This is a chemical precipitate, the white crystals are likely quartz and the red bands appear to be cinnabar a mercury ore or rhodochrosite. If the latter, then it means the white mineral is likely calcium carbonate and this is a carbonate rock. But like a coin I would have to see in hand to verify the mineral types. Could have formed by hot fluids percolating through rock and depositing minerals in void spaces, or via replacing existing rock. Very neat rock for sure.
I've updated that double eagle image in the system. Let us know at photography@collectors.com if you see any other anomalies.
Anyway, this might be my favorite non-coin image that I took this year. A happy gecko munching on a monstera at Iao Valley State park in Maui from last November.
