And to personalize this post, the pictured Rexall Drug Store was the site where some years later as a child I won my first "giveaway" in the form of a model train that was being offered by the Bexel Vitamin Company for naming the train's engineer. I submitted the name "Bexel Rex."

FWIW and for comparison, this was the same 4th Avenue (although pictured from the opposite direction) as I photographed it at the time of the 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake along with a photo from today. One can see that the Anchorage Hotel building that once housed the Rexall Drug Store remains intact having survived the 1964 earthquake
