What makes you think they are errors?

They all have either post-mint damage (PMD) or have gunk on it. NONE of them are worth over one cent each. Look around at https://minterrornews.com to find what a real error is. You should start searching around Google to find what types of errors there are.

Always buying nice toned coins! Searching for a low grade 1873 Arrows DDO Dime and 1842-O Small Date Quarter.

Welcome. Try posting a single coin with a question ... not a large group. This is especially true if you wish to ask the 'why' question.

Your coins all look to be damaged or have residue on their surfaces after leaving the mint, known here as PMD (post-mint damage). Sorry, but I don't have the energy for a 'why' on each of them.

You've posted exactly 20 pictures too many. No errors, all just damage from circulation.

Someone gold plated it once upon a time for a charm or keepsake. Only worth 1 cent.

Posts like this only try people's patience. Most of what you have is "errors via parking lots and automobile tires." If you want knowledgeable collectors to give you free advice, don't abuse the privilege. You have too many pictures in one post, and you ask questions about damaged coins that should be self evident, even for a beginner.

well if that is the case they should not let you post so many pics i just thought i would since they dont have a limit like other sites that way i didnt have to post a bunch of threads to get all my coins i didnt know=(

There's no rule against it. But when you post 20 pieces of pocket change, some of the old curmudgeons around here get ornery. They could just ignore you, and many of them will be, but some feel the need to stop by and chastise.

If you continue to post damaged pocket change, they will try to get you booted from the boards. I advise picking your spots. If you have 20 scratched cents, we can tell you it's a scratch by looking at any one of them.

I have seen so many terrific coins posted on this forum and I will say that Mr. Jones’s coins for overall consistant quality and eye appeal are fantastic!! They may not be six or seven figure coins but they are the kind of quality and rarity that you should eventually strive for. You will learn a lot from someone like him.

I don’t know what kind of budget you are on but try to buy a couple of legitimate Uncirculated errors that you keep asking everyone about. I can’t imagine them costing a few dollars each unless it is a very collectible double die. It will help you to learn more about what you are collecting. In addition, stay away from problematic coins. You would be hard pressed selling a better double die if they are beat up. A coin with very minor doubling yet very beat up to me is spending money.

The best advice I can give @maiku is to only post one coin per discussion. Posting a flood of coins makes if very difficult to comment on. Also be very clear on what you are asking or wanting to know about that coin. A wall of pictures with a generic question isn't useful to you or to the forum.

Agreed. I find it hard to respond to laundry lists, even when there are nice, worthwhile coins on them. One or two coins per post is a good idea unless you are posting an educational article where you are giving the information.

Prepare to have 20 different threads on 20 different pennies. I think there should be a category for "Penny errors".

Since 2009, the US Mint has paid more than $100 million to individuals who turned in their damaged coins.

It’s called the United States Mint Mutilated Coin Redemption Program, and it was established in 1911.

    Mutilated Coin Redemption Program

pile of mutilated coinsThe United States Mint established the Mutilated Coin Redemption Program so people and businesses could exchange bent and partial coins (commonly referred to as mutilated coins) for reimbursement. The information in this section outlines the process for submitting mutilated coins for reimbursement.

Submission requirements vary depending on how much is submitted annually and whether you submit as an individual or a company. The varying requirements help to appropriately process all mutilated coin shipments. Mutilated coins submitted for redemption must meet the acceptance criteria listed below. Go to the Instructions page to begin your application.

    Welcome aboard.

No error coins, just 25 cents worth of post mint damaged coins.

I have a piece of advice, take it as you will. I would recommend taking @1630Boston's advice and submitting these to the Mutilated Coin Redemption Program for your best return. In my humble opinion your return would be severely diminished by submitting them to PCGS or any other coin grading company.

    Edited for grammar.

Wow, I have one of those in my old jug in the shed out back, not nearly as good as the one shown here but pretty close. I'm going to have to dig it out and start a thread to get some ideas of it's value...be back soon.
