Anyone see this Susan B. Anthony Dollar feature story on TV?

The show on cable called "Through The Decades" ran a story, from 1979, on the coin. Was interesting hearing the negative comments from back then in regard to their lack of acceptance by the public. Not much different than now I suppose. They touched upon the amount still stored in the vaults. Interesting trip down memory lane.

They should all be sent to the smelter imo.

I know this is blasphemy on this site, but physical currency is going to be phased out in my lifetime, in most of the world.

    At least for the majority.

I don't think i will see the US Mints demise in my life span though. They will continue to crank out cents by the 100 Millions at a loss.

I do not believe physical currency will be phased out in the near future. Yes, some levels of society will use it less and less...however, the majority of people will stay with currency, for the most part. I did not see the special on the SBA, however, it was never a coin of interest to me. Cheers, RickO

probably sexist to say but if Susan B Anthony had looked like Angelina Jolie....... we would still be fondling her in our pocket change today

You can tell how unpopular the coin is...I've yet to see a giant blow up of one asking if it is a repunched MM or doubled die.
