Parsippany NJ Coin Show Report

KISHU1KISHU1 Posts: 2,317 ✭✭✭

I went to the show which is on the first Sunday of each month and is considered the biggest monthly show on the east coast.
Some of the deals offered were:

Low grade silver dollars were going for $17-$18
90% silver was at 11.5 X face
10 ounce silver RCM? bars were at $165 which is close to spot
Modern silver commems with boxes at 80% of gray sheet bid

Also lots of gold but mostly higher priced except for the jewelry pieces which $2.50 coins offered at $215 to $250

Just a sample of what was for sale

I can remember when the Parsipany show started in the mid 1970s. It used be at a Holiday Inn on Route 10 I don't know where it is now.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

It's been at the Police Athletic building for a while. Some major currency dealers, a few strong coin dealers like Dart. Same city as where NGC started out.
