THIS IS NOT A CAC THREAD....

TommyTypeTommyType Posts: 4,586 ✭✭✭✭✭

....in the traditional sense.

More of an OCD thread. Doesn't it just look WRONG on that side of the holder?

I had to share....I feel better now. :)

Take a deep breath. It will be ok. Guessing they didn’t want to cover the large stars designation.

you would think they would of had some thought about the stickers before they created them. Would really like to hear an explanation about size shape and placement. Why cant it be a smaller sticker?

Thanks for posting. The obverse must be beat up pretty good.

Why not put the bean at the top center over the PCGS Grade? I will balance the slab. Plus, I've been reading that the CAC sticker is the most important part of the "package."

BTW This is a CAC thread now. >:)

    Not mine anymore:

I think it's nice they use a few brain cells and try to put it where it doesn't mess up the information on the slab.

PCGS and NGC should be more accommodating of CAC. I think both services should modify the label to leave a space for the sticker. >:)

In some instances I'd bet it has more to do with not wanting to cover up the cert number.

It wouldn't bother me at all. I'd rather have it on the opposite side, than not be able to read the designation on the insert.

bottom left hand corner of slab, no wording, no coin, that way it can be uniform for all coins, imho

  • thefinnthefinn Posts: 2,657 ✭✭✭✭✭

Why not put them on vertically? Seems to be more room with it running long-wise North to South.

Why not put the bean at the top center over the PCGS Grade?

Why not on the reverse so as not to distract? Yes, I know, silly question.

You are correct. In the examples above when an added variety description is noted, they put it to the left to avoid covering any portion of the cert.

Obviously CAC places their sticker wherever they can so it doesn't cover any important label information.

I'm not sure why they don't put it right in the center of the holder, in the middle of the coin. Once it has a bean, no one looks at the coin anymore, do they?

A lot of research goes into creating and marketing any product, and psychology is heavily relied upon. I wonder if there is some special meaning or symbolism to the CAC sticker always being on the "right side" from the customer's perspective. I mean this as a serious inquiry and not a troll post.

    Sticker applied over the Variety info (S-4), when it could have been placed over the Gold Shield portion, and vice-versa;
