Newp, my first CAC coin

JcldJcld Posts: 449 ✭✭✭

I travel a lot for business and try to hit the local coin shops when I can. I picked this up in San Francisco today a a neat little coin shop. My first coin with a CAC sticker.

Nice pickup. It's always great when you can find something in a coin shop. I've been to a few in with no luck.

    Congrats on the pickup.

I love going to coin shops that I haven't visited. Never know what to expect except they all have coins.

Does it do anything for you that a non cac coin doesn't? I mean after all we are just discussing a sticker here.

Personally I like the coin. Reverse certainly warrants the grade. Obverse, not so much. 63/64 for sure. Congrats.

Honestly there were 2 of them in the shop with the same grade and price, but the OGH swayed me more than the CAC sticker.

Nice find.... A CC Morgan.... 1885.... Really nice reverse.... I have two or three of those in GSA holders. Cheers, RickO

Nice coin, properly graded, in an old green holder which will continue to command a premium from collectors who shy away from the new tab holdered coins.

Fuller strike 85-CC's are available. How many thousands were sold in GSA holders ?

There are always better, fuller, brighter, coins out there. But this one is mine.

Well, it is graded 64 so I think you can put the 63 back in the hat.

Hmmm....what is he trying to say? It's a Morgan!, I think. Once a Morgan, always a Morgan? There is no to-be or not-to-be. It's a Morgan!
