Peace Dollar Toner

23D, common date with hairlines, etc. but I really like the toning it acquired:

Maybe it's just the photo, but something about the surface doesn't look right.
I like bullseye toning on almost any coin.
The toning is very nice........but toning on Peace $$ is so very rare that collecting them might be a BIG challenge.
OINK
Toning on Peace dollars is very common. Attractive toning, on the other hand, is mighty rare. The color on this one is nice, but to me if looks like secondary toning on an AU, over-dipped coin. Nice strike, even for a 23-D.
If came across it, I’d probably pick it up for an album, where it would be plenty fun to look at.

I agree LOL! and that may also explain LanLord's concerns. Yes the coin had been cleaned and has hairlines. It is still very flashy in hand though. I'm just thrilled at the way it toned up in a Dansco over the years though.
$15 + 15 years well spent?
I think that was a great purchase, Greg. I would bet the coin looks far better inhand.

That Peace dollar has seen some commerce.... but still has good strike detail..... Not one I would be attracted to, however, in these days of 'color premiums' I am sure it would attract buyers. Cheers, RickO
